Trump Would Get Brittney Griner Out

The US has three basic choices regarding Griner:

1. make a totally unfair swap for her which would include the already discussed and some sort of pullback or concession from us regarding Ukraine, Finland, Sweden, and worldwide sanctions

2. let her rot in jail and hope it only lasts 9 years, even though it could wind up being longer as she is basically a political prisoner

3. elect Trump in 2024, who can stroke Putin's ego and get her released, all to spite the left for being so weak and score brownie points for himself

Griner does not deserve 9 years for a couple of nearly empty vape cartridges, but one has to wonder what she was thinking, traveling with illegal substances. Did she not even think of what could happen? Especially in an unfriendly country like Russia, ffs.

Yes, it is really all on her. And, even though she tried to claim innocence in the Russian court, she was partly lying to them as well. But, if you spit on the US and go to Russia as if they are some great country to respect in order to pad your own pocket book, you deserve whatever it is you get. From what I understand, she was making over 200K just playing in the US and, apparently, that wasn't good enough for her. I have zero sympathy for her.

 

the only thing i know is that whatever biden does ut will be a "disaster" and trump would have done something spectacularly better. trump will reveal his plan in about 2 weeks, but we are gonna really like it.

 

Trump's foreign policy record is abyssmal when he gets involved himself. His unpredictability may give some pause, but he is still considered a joke on the world stage. The progress in the Middle Easy was only achieved because he wasn't involved in those negotiations.

There's really no reason to think Trump would do any better here, because he's certainly not going to go to war with Russia over a basketball player who foolishly got themselves pinched for having drugs in a hardline country.

LOL. Which Ukraine are you talking about? The only one I know of is the one Biden is already letting fall to Putin. Yeah, we and the world have been sending Ukraine arms to defend themselves and sanctioning Russia to the hilt. How's that working out? And don't give me any propaganda. More territory is gobbled up by Russia every day. It's falling. All we are doing is giving Putin a black eye while he takes over Ukraine. Meanwhile, Putin is taking over Ukraine and has black eyes.

 

Nobody gave Ukraine a snowballs chance in hell of ... BUT, thanks to President Biden's global leadership they're holding on ... against a relative juggernaut.

LOL. Holding on? Face the facts, we have been throwing billions down the toilet, with the only result being Putin has black eyes, and gaining more and more in Ukraine daily.

 

What's logical is that Biden won't get her out without paying too high of a price while Trump could get her out paying less, and use it all to his advantage. Of course Biden is also trying to play it to his advantage but I don't think even he's stupid enough to pay the price Russia will insist on. Trump would pay a cheaper price because he would stroke Putin's ego while Biden does just the opposite. It would be like the Saudi Arabia thing. Biden calls SA out for being a pariah nation, visits them and admonishes them for the Kashoggi killing, then gets down on his hands and knees begging SA to increase oil production. How'd that strategy work out?

1. Putin's Russia is not a communist regime, it's fascist and dictatorial.

2. I'm saying that regardless of how dumb she was to have such things in her possession while traveling to other countries, nine years in Siberia is way over the top.

3. I'm saying that the harshness of her sentence is a political ploy by Putin.
