Kellogg presumably revealed that then-President Trump had discussed deploying the Guard to Washington before January 6, 2021. Kellogg was also granting the House Jan. 6 panel permission to release his sworn testimony in full…

…It might also call House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., into question, in terms of why she didn't approve a stronger police presence at the Capitol that day.

DailyAngle.com and Just the News recently chronicled a text exchange from January 2, 2021, between Pentagon official Carol Corbin and Capitol Police Acting Chief of Uniformed Operations Chief Sean Gallagher.

According to the publications' timeline, Corbin reached out "to determine whether [Capitol Police] is considering a request for National Guard soldiers for January 6, 2021 event."

The following morning, Gallagher responded by saying the request for National Guard support was "not forthcoming at this time after consultation with COP Sund," referring to Steven Sund, chief of the Capitol Police.

Later, Sund reportedly had a change of heart and sought permissionon January 4, 2021, from the sergeants at arms for Pelosi and then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., "to deploy the National Guard as a preventive measure."

Just the News then reported: "The official timeline shows the new request was denied…

    I
t will be interesting to see if the kangaroos running the J6 unselect show trial will release this testimony before them. More evidence that Trump did set in motion the procedures needed to release the DC NG should the Speaker or Mayor ask for them. Sund of the Capitol Police changed his mind and asked for the deployment and was turned down.

In January we will find out from Pelosi why it was that she turned down the option to have the national guard there before the protests ever started. I can’t wait to see Banks and Jordan grill her on that matter.

I've never understood the implication that the presence of 10,000 armed soldiers who ultimately reported to Trump would have made the situation better. I can understand why Trump might gave wanted them there though.

They would have been reporting to the Capitol Hill police while on assignment there, just as had the Mayor requested additional help those wouldnhabe been on assignment to the Metro Police and the COP testifies that had they had those additional forces the Capitol would not have been breeched.

In theory yes, but they'd still ultimately answer to the Command In Chief, who at the time apparently believed the nation was under the influence of some grand conspiracy to steal the Presidential election and who openly wanted the declaration either postponed or changed to declare him the winner. The whole thing was (and remains) a weird situation (watching from the outside really brings that home by the way).

I'm certainly not making any definitive accusations here, just pointing out the implication that Trump's apparent request for the National Guard isn't automatically evidence of good intentions, just as it apparently being turned down isn't automatically evidence of bad intentions.

    *LOL*

Still making that ridiculous claim? No, Nancy Pelosi wasn't "in charge" of the national guard.

Who said she was “in charge” of the national guard? It sounds like she may have been “in charge” of determining whether or not they can be deployed to the Capitol. The request was ran up the chain. She’s at the top of the chain. So if it wasn’t her that refused them, who did?

In the end, Democrats wanted violence to occur and did their best to nudge it along. Just like BLM. Just like ANTIFA. Look at what an amazing tool it’s been for them. When they ignorantly claim Trump supported the riot, how did that possibly benefit him? It didn’t and couldn’t.

Come on man, if Trump wanted troops to storm the capital the Pentagon would've had him hung by now. I know the left loves these takeover fantasy's but let's try to keep it real for once. If that's what your implying.

While they are deployed to the DC government or Capitol Hill in practice they operate under their direction else it would be a total uncoordinated fiasco. And they don't get deployed until those two agencies make their request for the backup. The President has nothing to do with it nor was there anything for him to do that day. The request were FINALLY made while the rally was still going on and Trump wasn't even back at the White House. From there it was just the standard approvals and orders to move which was the SecArmy.

Way too much of This Sort of BS:
    "presumably tweeted"
    "presumably revealed"
"If Kellogg's firsthand assessments can be verified"

The entire "article" is nothing more than Speculative BS...:bored:

No one said she was. She was in charge of the capital grounds security alternating with the senate majority leader. On that date it was her turn not the senate leaders. They were made available to her on Capitol grounds to suport capitol police and to the mayor for the other parts of the city. Both declined the NG before that day.

Umm, so, someone with zero law enforcement background could do what? Be specific and use a source.

So trump knew his crowd would be so dangerous he needed the army, but didn’t just cancel his rally? What an outrage!
