UK gun owner loses licenses because of internet presence

    I think one of the reasons that gun ownership is seen as more important in the United States than it is in the U.K. or Australia is that, at least traditionally (if we go back 100 years), the population of the U.S. was a lot more rural in character, whereas the population of the U.K. and Australia is and was much more concentrated in cities earlier on. Up until very recently in history (probably WW2) the U.K. had a societal class structure and common people were not really seen as having rights the same way that they did in America; and let's remember that Australia did start off as a prison colony, where criminals were sent off to.

    Please, just please look at a map of the current population distribution of Aus. We may not have bears but there are feral pigs out there that are plenty dangerous

    And yet you would give the UK's Muslim citizens the right to arm themselves for self defence.
    Stop enforcing existing regulations in order to make it easier for anybody to obtain firearms.
    No thanks.
    I think I'll chose to stick with fewer than 100 gun related homicides a year thanks.
    Gun ownership is a privilege not a right.

    You can have it as a right as long as those rights also come with responsibilities. We CAN own guns (especially on “farms” - mostly to shoot problematic wildlife like some of our spiders) but you must lock it when not in use is only ONE of the many responsibilities under law
