You have no evidence. You have an assertion that you believe has validity. You cannot prove this. You believe this. You've been fed this, but it doesn't make it true or proofed. So, as you suggest, his legal team will. What is certain, however, is regardless of the actual truth, you still won't be satisfied because of.. you know.. your hatred of Trump. That sounds more like a personal problem than anything else.

These are true statements. Except you have no idea when Trump declassified these things, or have a credible source that says he didn't.

Between the two of us i would say my assertions have more evidence to back them up. Time will tell who is correct. Would you agree?

Hmm.. depends on what you mean by "proof" because your premise isn't factually based, it's hard to understand what you cal proof actually means. If, by proof, you mean, the opinions of others, i hate to burst your bubble of belief, but it doesn't actually mean you have proof. Show me, in the law, that for example, the President cannot declassify.

I said evidence, not proof. There’s a big difference.

Hmm.. Evidence are facts. So far, you have none.

The facts that I have is that the FBI, with a signed warrant, seized confidential materials from Trump’s residence. What facts do you have?

The facts said, the FBI with a signed warrant illegally spied on Carter Page. Do you have any evidence that this is different somehow?

Do you have evidence that they are the same? Probably not, or at least no more evidence than I have that they’re different.

Based on what you’ve said it sounds like Trump has nothing to worry about, so why are you worried?

Yeah, they 'investigated' Hillary's violations regarding emails and servers, and the criminal Comey decided "no prosecutor would bring a case".

Get a grip Fresh Air, you're in denial about the criminality of the DOJ, the entire federal leviathan.

So..... are you saying the FBI and NARA lost top secret and SAP documents and did not know where they were for 18 months?

Nope. From my understanding they have been in negotiations with Trump and his legal team to return the documents they took. They claimed they turned everything over, which evidently, was a lie. Thus the raid.

There was supposedly some “Standing order” that if he took documents out of the Oval Office they were immediately declassified. That’s not how it works and no one from his staff would corroborate the story. Sounds like BS to me.

    https://www.npr.org/2022/08/15/1117...-in-mar-a-lago-dont-hinge-on-being-classified

After the FBI searched his Mar-a-Lago home and retrieved boxes of documents — some of them labeled “top secret” — former President Donald Trump released a statement claiming that as president, he had a “standing order … that documents removed from the Oval Office and taken to the residence were deemed to be declassified the moment he removed them.”

Numerous experts on national security and the law surrounding classified documents say that isn’t plausible. And in any case, whether some of the documents are classified — as many of them were marked — may be irrelevant to the criminal investigation, since none of the three criminal laws cited as the predicate for the search warrant require documents to be classified for a violation to occur.

    Got it?

What a hero story you've concocted here. Meanwhile, the Trump wing of the Republican party, the party you claim to have morals and won't use power corruptly, is coalescing around probably one of the most corrupt amoral individuals this country has ever seen in office.

Your narrative probably gives you the old warm and fuzzy feeling. It's easy to do when it doesn't have any connection to reality.

So if I understand the OP correctly, the left's actions are unfair and unconstitutional. But the Republicans are only too happy to act in unfair and unconstitutional ways if given the opportunity in the future? If that's the case, then all is fair in love and war (and politics). Don't you want to hold yourselves to a higher standard than your corrupt and criminal opposition?

Historic precedent seems to indicate that it might. Given the problem of what the files had in them, and their relationship, possibly to Crossfire Hurricane, you might not have any legs to stand on here soon.

you are not just a little apprehensive about what trump was doing with classified data?

does having the authority to declassify secrets necessarily mean that these things should be declassified?

I'm not speculating here. The the president said he declassified things. You have yet to show where this statement isn't factual.

My guess, if I had to hazard one, was that he kept these copies because he knew the agencies wouldn't in fact publicly release the documents that he had declassified. You realize that the release of the Crossfire Hurricane docs still hasn't been publicly released, right? It seems lots of the agency misconduct continues.
