Well, congrats to the Lionesses! They have no bearing on the men's game, though. We'll see.

Ah but next year they will be up against your waning USA team.
Maybe the crown is due to be passed...

Hey, we're better than you are in American Football, Baseball, and Basketball, LOL!!!!!! (Those strange games like Rugby and Cricket shouldn't count).

I expect we'll lose to England and beat Iran, so we should have a good idea of whether we're going to advance or not after our first match against Wales.

What's coming home - did your cat run away?

It's been a while, but this could be the year it finally makes its way back home to Brasília.

I hope Montegriffo finds his cat....

    England Lionesses 6 Luxembourg 0.
Second half only just started though so plenty of time for Luxembourg to catch up.

    Not funny man.
He went off to find the Italian World Cup squad and I've not seen him since.

9-0 now but I think Luxembourg are running out of time.

    ...make that 10-0

I think it will be Germany vs Brazil for the final.
The German Ladys had a nice easy training session against Bulgaria 8 goals to nil.
Montegriffo, lets not forget the not given Handball, which brought it home as you call it. Old Wembly is all ways good for such moments, don't you agree.

And the goal that wasn't a goal against Germany in 1966. Nowadays the goal line technology would have disallowed that goal.

Haha, this was actually very funny. Even I laughed at this. Well done!
Fortunately I still have the USA and Brazil to root for.

Brazil is on fire. Vini Jr is great, Neymar recovered his form (spectacular assist to Mbappe against Juve; you have to see it to believe it! Neymar has something like 9 games in a row with PSG scoring at least one goal, not to forget the assists. Pedro from Flamengo is incredibly good). Brazil's offense will be a force to reckon with in Qatar. This is the best Brazilian squad in a long long time, one that sailed through the difficult South American qualifiers, beating everybody and qualifying with 6 rounds to spare. I expect great things from Brazil in Qatar. They're coming back with a vengeance, now #1 in FIFA ranking (as bad as this ranking is, it's still progression) and the whole Brazilian football is improving at home and abroad (the Libertadores final will again be all-Brazilian, featuring Athletico-PR vs. Flamengo).

I'm excited for the USA. McKennie scored a fabulous goal for Juve against PSG. Sergiño Dest had his Milan debut against Salzburg and he did well (Milan still only drew 1-1 but it was not Sergiño's fault). It will be the first time the USA team has several players who play for major European powerhouses. Granted that it's a difficult group but it is not impossible that we'll advance.

Besides this assist I was not impressed by Neymar, his acting was more than disgusting. You saw the slow mow where he tripped himself and then lay dying at the sideline for minutes, give me a break

Well yeah, he's like that but then he produces the genius play that results in a goal that he scores himself or allows his companions to score. Scores win games. What else do you want from a player? Sure, we want fair play but we know that most players do try to cheat and exaggerate fouls. There are no saints in the game of football.

Yes, it is the goals that matter and he has those moments of genius, but the rest of his game sucks. He dishes out himself, but if a player comes half a meter close to him, he rolls around on the ground and dies three deaths. You never see a Kimmich, Lewandowsky, Messi, Sane and so on do that.
It takes away from his game and prevents him to be a real great player, but a lousy actor.

Yep, thanks, I have retired, actually as of 8/31/22 (I had a couple of days left in vacation accruals I didn't use so I didn't need to complete the week until 9/2/22). Still trying to get used to the new life of being an ex-doctor retiree other than an active doctor (it's a big role transition and self-identify change). Kind of miss work actually, but enjoying the peace and tranquility of staying home all week long. I'm about to do some traveling and to look into some fun projects.

So good for you. Finding that new groove can be a challenge, but I think you will find new challenges, without the demands of daily job.

Live is beautiful and has so much beauty and great things to do. Enjoy it my friend.

Thanks for help you gave me.

Well that didn't go very well.
Dull game with a single goal (for Italy).
Even CF wouldn't have found it very entertaining.
    England looking devoid of ideas.
England relegated to group B in the glorified friendlies league.
Not great for confidence 2 months before the World Cup starts.
It's not just the 6,000 plus dead construction workers who won't be coming home from Qatar.

That series of Nation cup games was strange. Who of the so called big teams did not lose, Italy. Spain lost, France, England, Germany they all lost.
    Head shakers.
England vs Germany to day in Wembly, no controversy. First half a sleeping pill, second half rather interesting and 2 very beautiful goals and a total of 6, with 2 penalties. Great moral from both teams, never giving up all ways coming back. 3:3 draw.
Best player of the game Jamail Musial, he initiated all 3 German goals. That kid belongs in any start up 11 every time.
Havertz with his 2 goals, can not be a sub. Both players were subs against Hungary. I hope they stay healthy and keep their form for the WC.

But Germany and England have their work cut out, they need to do better to be competitive at the WC

    Yeah, great game.
England pretty dominant in possession and territory but lacking in finishing.
