A friend of mine calls them hardly rideables. Personally I think that they're highly overrated and overpriced but in fairness I must say the only one I ever rode was the 500 Harley Street that I took my test on . I used to say you could find a Harley by following the oil trail.

Also to be fair any motorcycle from 1988 is no doubt going to require some work at that point

They started putting roundabouts in Colorado where my mom lived back in the early 2000’s. She would drive blocks out of the way to get to the post office to avoid using the roundabout there.

Roundabouts are quite common in Nebraska now. I prefer them in most cases and I don’t hear anyone complain about them. My only complaint is I’ve found a couple with the semi that are just too narrow and too “compact” to navigate with large vehicles.

I hit 75 today on my bike on the highway. It says it has a top speed of 77.

I hit 70 with a wide open throttle and could get no faster, to get the other 5 miles an hour I had to tuck and lean forwards. I only had 75 for a second because I'm sure the motor was about redlining and you're not going to want to hold it there too long .

It is getting cooler so work is shifting inside. I am building an addition to my workbench. I
am using pallet wood. It doesn't look too bad. With some sanding and clear finish it works

I think it is good idea to max out the bike at least once. I took my Suzuki up to 95. I still think it would have been a little faster if I had maxed it out during the break in.

My friend does a lot of that. I tried tearing a pallet apart once with a pry bar and all I got was split wood. My friend cuts the wood out so you lose some of the length but you don't have the nail holes. Is that what you do?

I use a 2x to pry and pry to get the whole board. I also cut nails with a sawzall. I get some pallets that come apart pretty well. Others get burned. Sometimes I bust them loose with a hammer and block.

You can also turn the pallet on edge and cut the nails with an old skilsaw blade. Do both ends and twist the middle to get the middle board loose....kinda rough.

Speaking of roundabouts a lot of towns and cities in Florida have roundabouts. Texas also has quite a few and Texas also has a hike roundabout. The Enchanted Rock in Texas has a hike roundabout..

Are Ayrshire cows the most common dairy cow in Britain?

Cows are one of my favorite animals to photograph. They are curious about what you are doing.

The squirrel cage is all but done. There's a 4 ft tall cylinder roughly 20 in across the ends. Made of half inch hardware mesh. It seems very simple but trust me it was very tedious and time consuming to make.... Every square must be cut and wrapped around its neighbor like a staple.

If you look at the top dead center of the cylinder you can see four wires making a hanger loop.

Here you can see where it will hang on my porch.

I'm going to take it inside in a few moments and introduce the squirrel to it for the first time.

You can't see it very well but if you look behind the door you will see that there is a horizontal shelf formed of the half inch hardware mesh.

This will form a shelf for the squirrel will have bedding material towards the top of the cylinder where it hangs from the peak of my porch.

I can easily bring the cage in doors if it's going to storm extremely badly or if it's going to be one of our rare very cold nights of the year.

There will also be bedding material in the bottom of the cylinder as well, this will likely consist of Spanish moss, for several reasons....

First and foremost it absolutely festoons all of the live oak trees and then some other trees and objects around all of Florida and other parts of the southeast.

Secondly, the eastern gray squirrel is extremely familiar with this. Probably born in a nest composed mainly of it.

And third... A very sanitary bedding material.
Food and other waste, can fall from the cage onto the porch and only need changing occasionally.

But it is free and very abundant, so I'd say change it once a week anyways.

Back in the early days of Florida and Southeastern history, mattresses and upholstery of different types, utilized Spanish moss. An early model t Ford may have had some in it's seats. Maybe?

If they didn't leave the factory that way they probably saw some at one point in their early service life.

The poor squirrel has been living mainly indoors in a suboptimal cage while I construct this one.

It will be a big upgrade and perhaps one day the squirrel will decide that it doesn't want to return to it, who knows ?

Can you mass produce these,,, say in the thousands? This may be exactly what the Mayors of NY, Chicago and DC are looking for. The homeless and LA and San Francisco.... the market is HUGE!

    Lol.

I can pretty much make you whatever it is you want out of pretty minimal supplies and materials.

When I look at things I don't say to myself what is that..... I say to myself... What can I turn this into?

Don't look at what it is... Look at what you can make it!

Two expansion springs, with eye loops on either end... Will perform door duty.

One hook on the end of each spring, will place plenty of pressure on the door where it will not be an issue.

I believe some of y'all may have seen the pictures I posted about a year or more ago.... Where I turned a very large old filing cabinet into a very secure and suitable habitat for the pet water moccasin I used to have.

I can't seem to dig up the photos to post again but it was a very magnificent creation. Since turning my pet snek loose in a very remote area... The cage now sits in the storage shed, having objects stored in it as well...

Otherwise I would have to take some new pictures, but I'm not digging it out.
