Republicans in key battleground races refuse to say they will accept results

Of the 19 GOP candidates questioned by The Washington Post, a dozen declined to answer or refused to commit. Democrats all said they would respect the results.

So, these Republicans just want to be sworn in on January 1 2023 ? No election required.
These Republicans just decided they were the next in line for office and that's it.

They’re allowed to contest election results just like the 150 democrats before them who contested or refused to accept the results.

 

Right like the 2020 presidential election.

Yep. They vote, and if they win they accept the results, and say "people have spoken", and if they lose, they reject the results and accuse the opponents of fraud. Personally I'm done with it. I do not wish to participate in something that has been turned into a joke.

 

I don't think this is even about not accepting the results. It's a new ritual in the Trump Cult that they must appear in public behaving like "The Prophet". They are too stupid to realize that they are playing a part in undermining democracy.

This is about the time of the century in which, historically, an authoritarian regime takes over a major world power and disposes of any signs of democracy. It should concern us all.

 

Results are only legitimate when a Republican wins.

 

I mean, I am not surprised they refused to say it.

Remember people, we are in WAR.

And most of them are smart enough to not give Democrats sound bites that can be used against them.

The only thing that saddens me is they won't just be honest about it.

I have been around this forum, lurking, for a long time. I have seen plenty of back and forth between Republicans and Democrats in the political fighting.

And there have been quite a few Republicans warning that whatever they perceived Democrats doing with Obama and Hillary would not stand. They admitted, ahead of time, that they would start fighting back politically, using ANY means in their arsenal.

And Democrats heard it, and did nothing.

I get it, I know logically how bad things will get when both sides start taking these political battles seriously, when they start escalating further. Millions are likely to die.

But I don't see things working out for us going this super slow, incremental route.

Republicans are NOT stupid, by and large. They KNOW what they are doing. They don't care if it's immoral. They only care a bit if illegal, and they get caught.

But I can still see their point of view regarding Democrats as well. Either we are all equal as people, with equal rights AND responsibilities, or we are not. They don't care about being called hypocrite, and neither do I.

IMO, all of us are hypocritical about SOMETHING. We all want the best life we can get. There is no shame in that.

And if the environmentallists are right, and our planet is boned in a couple decades, we don't have time for this infighting.

So, can we all just start being honest with each other? I don't come to this forum to change minds, I know that is not possible. I come here to get insight into other people and their minds, and I can't get accurate info if people are being obtuse.

Nope, not at all. They are legitimate when Billionaires don't pump hundreds of millions into the election processes of critical states; or when drop boxes are mysteriously stuffed in the middle of the night; or when four swing states don't mysteriously shut down counting for a few hours and then resume with altered numbers.

 

Why not just let the election occur and worry about it afterwards. Is that hard?
