It's not a matter of the court it is a matter of the House rules and what she did. The Republicans get to pick who represents them NOT Pelosi. She got want she wanted a phony committee of her choosing with one goal and it was not to find out how such a riot in the Capital occurred but just to try and smear Trump and find crimes he and others committed, but unconstituional abuses of their power.

You said the resolution gave her VETO power, it says no such thing that she must consult with Repulbicans and the Republicans get to choose their members. It does not require members agree with Pelosi's bias'd view or her desire to merely paint Trump in a bad way in order to influence future elections.

You keep repeating your already debunked falsehoods.

I am citing the court cases which state that while the investigative power of Congress is broad it is NOT for such investigations as this committee is engaged. All that testimony has not shown us anything we didn't already know. It will issue a report that does nothing more than try to just expose for exposure sake.

"Congress cannot use its subpoena authority to put someone on trial for a crime or wrongdoing, nor does Congress have the “power to expose for the sake of exposure.” Slip Op. at 12. Indeed, the Court confirmed that congressional investigations used solely to “punish” those investigated would be “indefensible.” Not only that, the Court reinforced the limitations to the subpoena power, including that the subpoena must serve a “valid legislative purpose,” "

The resolution specifies that the Speaker is empowered to appoint all members.

The minority leader withdrew the three Republicans he had proposed and she had been willing to approve.

In a legal challenge by the NRC, the legitimacy of the
U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol was upheld by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. The ruling was delivered by Timothy J. Kelly, a Trump appointee.

You don't seem to like the revelations by all the Republican officeholders and members of Trump's inner circle testifying before the select investigative committee under oath, but they have fulfilled the purpose of the Committee in furtherance of safeguarding American democracy admirably.

Much truth has been exposed, despite desperate attempts by some to conceal it.

And remember.... this is a 9 member committee that should have 13.

    https://january6th.house.gov/about
looks like the ""5 of whom shall be appointed after consultation with the minority leader."" minority leaders does not share the same views you do........

    upload_2022-9-26_12-55-42.png

    https://www.republicanleader.gov/mccarthy-statement-on-select-committee-on-january-6/

Washington, D.C. – House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the Select Committee on January 6th:
“Speaker Pelosi’s rejection of the Republican nominees to serve on the committee and self-appointment of members who share her pre-conceived narrative will not yield a serious investigation.
“The Speaker has structured this select committee to satisfy her political objectives. She had months to work with Republicans on a reasonable and fair approach to get answers on the events and security failures surrounding January 6.
“Instead, she has played politics. Lost in much of the news coverage is the fact that the Senate has already conducted bipartisan investigations that should serve as a roadmap for the House.
“Speaker Pelosi’s departure from this serious-minded approach has destroyed the select committee’s credibility. The U.S. Capitol and the men and women who protect it suffered a massive leadership failure. We must make sure that never happens again and that is what Republicans will be focused on.”

It says the Republicans will appoint their's all it says is she will consult with them on who they pick not that she does or that she has a veto over them.

There have been no new important revelations nor new truths just a rehash and the same false statements such as and officer was "bludgeoned to death" or 5 officers died because of. NOTHING as to why the security was so lacking that such a riot could occur. You don't seem to want those relvations which this committee DOES have jurisdiction and does have a duty to investigate.

The January 6 Committee has exceeded authority...

    and.....
altered emails between Jordan and Meadows
    manipulated and edited Trumps speech..
Jan. 6 was the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.
The Jan. 6 “insurrection” was the worst ever attack on Congress.
The events of Jan. 6, 2021 constituted an armed insurrection.

They finally got Trump to invoke EP in regard to J6 witnesses testimony in DOJ GJ on J6. DOJ needed the invocation to challenge it. It’s been tossed around a lot by witnesses but not invoked.
That’s likely the most interesting revelation lately.

If you recall witnesses cited it during their testimony in front of J6 Committee: Cipollone, Philben, Herschmen, Short, Jacobs.

Your communist dictator president has waived Trump executive privilege right..

Biden waives executive privilege for new set of Trump records

President Biden has authorized the National Archives and Records Administration to hand over an eighth tranche of presidential records from the Trump White House to the House committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

Well, Biden’s the President not a communist dictator. I’m sure I live in USA. That said.

I’m alluding to the privilege battle being waged under seal over testimony from Pence’s people and OLC attorney’s. Those witnesses cited it during J6 Committee and DOJ GJ testimony. The battle is over direct communications with the former President which could be privileged. For instance, the OLC attorney’s, was the former President advised on the legality or illegality of the actions he took leading to and on 1/6? We’re tip toeing a line here. Evidently Emmett Floyd is involved so we’ve got a strong advocate for the Presidency in the battle, but we’re dealing with a criminal investigation and privileges usually don’t stand in that circumstance. It’s going to be an interesting verdict.

My guess is they won’t stand and we’ll get the testimony. Cocoran’s argued way too broad in other venue’s and doubt he’ll reverse course in this one.

Which will probably be overturned by the SCOTUS else there is no point in an EP at all if the very next President can wave it for the person the may have beat in the election.

Despite the whining by the Loser's butt barnacles, all legal challenges to the legitimacy of the U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol failed.

It has fulfilled its mission admirably thus far, and Wednesday's public hearing in the interests of safeguarding democracy should continue to fulfill that patriotic imperative.

Really? Then why wasn't Jim Jordan allowed to sabotage the committee's work?

AND it remains the Pelosi committee after she took it over so she could stack the members in her favor it is NOT a "bipartisan" nor unbiased committee by any means.

They've been able to make hay about it for several months... That's something but it was something I expected.

    Leftists love a victim narrative.

See kids. This is what happens when you get your information about criminal activity from a primetime made for tv special where the Congressional House Members are declaring him guilty before even remotely coming close to finishing their investigation.

I agree with the excepted expectations: I had no idea it would have become such a idiotic fluster-cluck, a process that would have embarrassed stalin, and and a monstrous demonstration on how democracy doesn't work.

You appear to be upset because Republican attempts to delegitimate the U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol failed and there are no challenges pending.

The Speaker fulfilled the resolution's requirement that she appoint all members, the Minority Leader having withdrawn the three he had proposed that she had found acceptable.

It is hardly surprising that Trump raged against McCarthy for having done so.

The Committee has performed admirably in the interests of safeguarding American democracy, largely thanks to all the Republican officeholders and Trump regime insiders who have provided revealing, corroborative testimony under oath.

ETA: And yet no charges will be filed against Trump even though those House members (including two “repuvlicans” who will no longer be on the committee come November) definitively stated time and time again that he was criminally and unequivocally guilty without a trial.

There you go I fixed that for you lol

You appear confused. It is not within the remit of the duly-appointed U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol to issue indictments. It has achieved its purpose in exposing attempts to destroy our democracy admirably, and its mission continues with a public hearing tomorrow.

Indictments are a disparate matter, such as bringing the Trump goons who attacked outnumbered police defending the Capitol to justice. Hundreds have been identified, apprehended, and prosecuted, and the championing of law and order continues:

Your misguided beliefs have absolutely no bearing on, nor do they in any way diminish, the information the 1/6 committee has revealed. Pretending the composition of the committee has compromised its work is, and always has been, an ineffectual way to discredit it because the info they have produced is so devastatingly damning for Trump.

No see you seem confused. Nobody gives a crap who gets indicted unless they get Trump. That’s why House members have sat on that ridiculous prime time television special committee and continuously and vociferously asserted without equivocation that a US citizen was guilty of crimes such as treason without giving him a trial.

You and Golem can sit here and lie to yourselves about how the committee has exceeded expectations and how they’ve done such a wonderful job but you, him, me and every person on planet earth above the age of 8 and with an IQ above 40 (and damn sure anyone who has read this forum since the committee was started) knows that this committee had one purpose and one purpose only.

That was to find enough dirt on Trump to be able to charge him criminally and be able to exclude him from being able to run for president again. And they failed miserably.

BTW Will it still be a “bipartisan” committee now that the two traitors… I mean “republicans” are no longer in congress come November?

It is, obviously, a bipartisan committee, but the significance of the committee is not the party affiliation of its members, but the sworn testimony of so many officeholders and Trump regime insiders who happen to be Republicans.

As for your need to malign two members as "traitors," what specifically have they done that constitutes treason in your mind?

Traitors to the cause not the country.

But how would you know what those people testified? All you saw was edited and shortened testimony and evidence which this committee WANTED you to see because it helped make their case while the committee refused to present evidence of an exculpatory nature.

You were fed a narrative with selective evidence by clearly biased “investigators” who loudly and publicly declared their target guilty before they even started their investigation.
