You really like twisting the narrative around, just a chip off the old MSM block, hey?

Dude: These accords are historic fact and even you should be able to view them or copies thereof in a museum.
LITERALLY: Boris Yeltsin then President of the Russian Federation, PUTINS PREDECESSOR, signed the memorandum and the accords.
    Let it go already.

So, we start with territory given away by Lenin, only to end up with Yeltsin. How the fck did that happen? Oh, narrative manipulation.

Have you considered the fact that Putin's predecessors were wet socks and got coerced into signing sh!t no moral leader would normally do? Along the same lines as giving away land. Have you considered this?

The territory wasn't given away by Lenin. As explained, Ukraine was still part of the Soviet state controlled by Russia even after Lenin. It was akin to making it a state still part of the overarching federal (for lack of a better term) structure.
You can tell by how STALIN was able to control Ukraine sufficiently to cause the Holodomor.

Yeltsin, to secure the nuclear weapons in their possession and a promise of non proliferation, recognized their independence explicitly in the Budapest Memorandum.

Over the line, mark it zero.

    More on the pipelines:

According to recent information, a group of submarine expeditions of an unknown country placed bombs on the thick steel pipes coated with concrete located on the seabed. The Swedish seismologist Bjorn Lund even mentioned that at least 100 kg of TNT and even more must have been used for these explosions and that it caused an earthquake of 2.3 magnitude.

Russian sources say an expeditionary detachment of US Navy ships led by the amphibious ship USS Kearsarge was 30 km away from the site of sabotage on the Nord Stream-1 gas pipeline and 50 km from the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.

This sabotage is definitely an act of war, and when Russia is sure as to who caused the damage to the billion dollar pipes, there will be retaliation. I assume the retaliation will be the grabbing of more American corporate assets in Ukraine to cover the losses, but who knows?

Regardless, even if Russia doesn't lose in the end from the bombing of the pipelines, it is a threat to the energy security of all of Europe. This alone would stop Russia from committing an act equal to it on other EU energy sources.

So if you're stating that during the Lenin era land was Soviet land (still Russian) what about the others, Lenin's predecessors? They gave land away to Ukraine, this was before the Soviet Union was formed. How does that work?

The US is sharing information on "apparent sabotage" of Nord Stream pipelines, State Department says

    From CNN's Jennifer Hansler

The United States is “sharing information that is in our possession regarding these apparent acts of sabotage” on the Nord Stream pipelines, US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said Wednesday.

Price said they “have more questions than answers at this point” about the leaks in the undersea pipelines, and noted that “an investigation like this, owing to the nature of the investigation underwater for one, could well take time.”

“So we're going to allow the investigation to play out before we start to lay out theories or hypotheses,” he said at a State Department briefing. He also declined to say whether sabotage would rise to the level of a breach of NATO Article 5.

Price said the use of the phrase “apparent sabotage” is based on "what we know but primarily what we're hearing from our European counterparts.”

He said the US has “offered assistance for any environmental response, but we haven't yet received any such requests for assistance from our Danish partners.”

Good job? If an enemy power sabotaged critical US infrastructure, we would be looking at a war. So we better hope the US didn't do this or we're the aggressor in starting the next world war.

Also...it sounds like both pipes damaged..."beyond repair"?....that sucks...I guess it's back to using land routes through Ukraine...and other hostile "territory"?:)

There is no reason for the U.S. to sabotage a pipeline in Europe. Better look elsewhere.

Well then you ought to shut the **** up.

3 different pipelines....fail....at the same time. Surely you can figure this out??

Hell I guess not. So continue on with the nonsensical. :above: :fishing:

2 pipelines, Nordstream 1 and 2. A russian project isn't built to spec and fails? Shocking I'm sure, more news at 10.

Actually the Russians do have the subs, but other than the idea of Russia doing it to themselves being stupid, when the German people were protesting to better relations and to open pipelines, the Russian subs with special "bottom" capabilities are no longer in the Baltic.

Russia does have the largest fleet of spy submarines in the world, but they are based in the Arctic. As for the special Russian submarine Belgorod, it is now active in the White Sea. All the pipeline leaks were in the Swedish or Danish EEP.

I just though of one way the Russians could retaliate other than grabbing American assets in Ukraine, and that would be to cut communication cables in the Bering straits?

We lost all trust in the world with our cowardly retreat from Afghanistan. We haven't been a "respected ally" since that event.

Oh my, CNN and the US State Department. CNN lost all credibility when Turner sold it, and the US State Dept. when Clinton illegally bombed Belgrade on false premises to break up Serbia.
