This was a reply to your claims. Any nation wanting to join NATO is free to do so. Who said this? Putin in January 2022 when asked about him massing his army on the Ukraine border. He assured everyone there would be no invasion and every soverign nation has the right to do as it pleases within its borders.
Good on Sweden and Norway joining NATO. Ukraine will follow suit. But even without NATO a future Ukraine will be something Russia fears. And Ukraine won't forget - not just Putin, but the Czars, Stalin and Lenin too.

Ukraine needs to not just survive this war but to recover economically and hopefully learn the lesson that Russians have acted like monsters for as long as they have existed. There is a deep psychological defect and void in the Russian psyche that is they know that they do not have an anchor in history that defines Russia. That is why Russian leaders, historians, and politicians have claimed the false myth of having a history in the Kyivan -Rus. So they lie and create a false story so they can have legitimacy as a peoples. Ukrainians should from now to eternity not trust anything that is Russian and treat Russia as the perpetual enemy and monster that it always was is, and shall be.

NATO didn't expand into Eastern Europe until AFTER the end of the Cold War.

This is a basic fact that no doubt you will slander me for pointing out.

    >>>There are 3 ways. Example:
"Has the US ever lost a war?"

    1). Tell the truth: "Yes".
    2). Lie: "No".
3). Avoid anything pertaining to the subject at hand: "We've got more cars & TV's than Russia :flagus: :flagus: :flagus:!"

Can't have been much good - and certainly did not ensure the candidates had grasp of the subject matter - your comments on the Cold war an abject failure - not having achieved even a layman's aptitude of the subject.

When these Historical errors are pointed out to you - you run around crying "idiots" . Is that what this program taught .. what your students were then taught to do ?

True (the cold war comment) -- but a point that does not change the correctness of the initial premise one iota .. NATO been poking the Bear pior to Ukraine conflict for many decades .. no need to dither on when the exact end of the cold war was.

Nor does this explain your lack of knowledge of Nato expansion

Would we say bringing tid bits irrelevant to the claim .. whilst ignoring the poster's massive fail .. would be number 3 ? I suppose it would be.

Now don't blame me for slander .. you stepping into the shoe .. just pointing out how well the shoe fits.

You declared it to the heavens .. unable to come up with a single example of NATO Poking the Bear.. .. which you will now follow by declaring your lack of knowledge of History in general .. (even though I told you about it ahead of time) .

I wasn't aware that you specified exactly what you meant by "poking the bear".

I've seen it defined in publications like U.S. News & World Report (a late great magazine) to be active military actions against the Soviets (Russians) like overflights of combat aircraft.

I assume you were not talking about that though?

Putler sure did try to say countries couldn't be in NATO unless he let them. Did you even listen to the unhinged speech he made the day he launched his war of aggression?

Another example of "poking the bear" in terms of military actions would be when the U.S.S. Yorktown (cruiser) and U.S.S. Caron (destroyer) were lightly rammed by Soviet ships in the Black Sea when they violated Soviet waters in a "freedom of navigation exercise in 1988 IIRC.

Wasn't what was being referred to .. and ridiculous nonsense to suggest that it was .. but you are welcome suppose what you wish in a free country.. unlike that which you would prefer in that land of authoritarian bliss you yearn for.

Feigning ignorance is tangibly much worse than actual ignorance which is nothing to be ashamed of. But faking ignorance in order to get in a jab is uncivilized.

I suppose for them it's easier because their facial expressions (live and up-close) would give them away quicker than they can the words out of their mouths.

It's actually a pretty common characteristic for vulnerable or insecure ppl, to adopt a mainstream media narrative, thinking that the MSM is actually public opinion rather than an invidious corporation run by a coalition/cult of wealthy individuals

Actually a pretty common characteristic for uneducated, unsuccessful people is to think that any media which does not support their views is a conspiration run by a coalition/cult of wealthy individuals.
