Has anyone asked the question of were those missiles that hit Poland launched from Belarus or from the airspace over Belarus territory??

Belarus might find out that being Russia's bitch is hazardous at best.

Russian tactics are weird. You START a war with "shock and awe" to wipe out power, communications and transportation. You don't wait until you have taken thousands of casualties.

At the same time, this bot is spreading around statements, that "Russia attack only military targets". And no confusion in their heads. Know why? It's because thinking process is absent there, they are like parrots, repeat what they were told to.

They tried, but were not able to. And they believed to their own lies, that it would be possible to take Kiev in 2 days, that Ukrainian army will collapse and government will run away. And then they faced reality - whole nation stand up and started a war against intruders. Now, as they can't beat Ukrainians on battlefield, they decide to leave millions of civilians without water, electricity and medical care.

Sorry billy. If Russia hadn't of launched a barrage of missiles into Ukraine civilians structures then Ukraine doesn't launch this missile to intercept them.

    Still Russia's fault.

And I also hate to break it to you but this war has only increased ten fold the anti Russian sentiment by the Ukrainian people and the western world. Kind of what happens when you show your true strips and bomb civilian infrastructure as you invade their sovereign land.

This doesn't end with zelensky. Lol.

Pictures of the building the incoming hit show a LOT of damage to the building. The S300 is an air defense weapon. It is not used against ground targets because it does not carry a very big explosive payload. The S300 is designed to knock down aircraft, not destroy hard things like buildings. An S300 could not do the kind of damage we see in that building. Something stinks. It almost looks like there were two actions here... an S300 for bang and smoke... and some other action (demolition?) for actual damage.

Even stranger is they still have not wiped them out. Not sure why the emphasis on sub stations and not the electrical production facilities(minus nuclear of course).

Russia use S300 to shell Ukrainian cities and towns, because stockpile of surfcase--ground-to-ground missiles are coming to an end.

When I was in Iraq there was a huge power plant near us. There was a small building near the gate that I was told was the distribution center. The main power lines came into this building where it was distributed to multiple lines serving various regional areas. The small "distribution building" was flattened but the power plant was basically intact. It was relatively easy to repair the small building and get service restored.

Using S300's on ground targets would be like using a bow and arrow against a tank. Aircraft are generally light and fairly fragile. Not like tanks at all. You use the appropriate weapon for the appropriate target. S300's in a ground attack role would be a waste of S300's.

Latest information indicates this was a single S-300 missile. The S-300 missile system is used by both Russia and Ukraine and is a ground-launched air defense missile designed to shoot down either enemy aircraft or enemy missiles. It is also capable of launching in a ground-to-ground mode, though this isn't its intended purpose as the missiles are fairly expensive and very inaccurate in this mode. Russia has been utilizing this missile in its ground-to-ground mode, believed to be due to its shortage of missiles with ground-to-ground capability. So, this doesn't help much in determining who fired the shot into Poland.

US sources indicate the missile's track originated in Ukraine. This is a definitive piece of information as the US operates continuous JSTARS/AWACS surveillance of Ukrainian airspace. Barring any conflicting information, it appears this missile was fired by Ukraine in an attempt to intercept incoming Russian missile attacks. It failed to intercept the Russian missile and eventually landed just across the border with Poland. Unfortunately, it killed two Polish civilians.

Wow. You'd have to be unbelievably unprepared. Like attacking a battleship with a hand grenade. But who knows? They lined up and stopped on the road in their original invasion while the Ukrainians tore them up. Dumb... dumb... dumb... so... who knows?

I wouldn't consider the S300 a small missile only capable of taking out a delicate target. It is quite large compared to an anti-tank weapon. This is due to its inaccuracy as compared to Western AA missiles and its range. The long range requires more fuel, and its inaccuracy requires a larger blast radius. The heavier warhead requires even more fuel. So, if it hits a hardened ground target (like a tank) it can destroy it. However, its accuracy makes this unlikely. In its ground attack mode, it is basically a large unguided aimed rocket artillery. Expensive and not effective in this role.

It is also categorized as a Dumb2 system. It does not possess the ability to self-destruct prior to contacting the ground should it lose track.

Its not the size of the missile that counts. Its the size of the explosive payload. When you are trying to knock down aircraft or missiles/rockets you only use a small amount of explosives. The dreaded STINGER has about a ten pound payload. Larger air defense weapons expend space/weight on guidance for precision and extra fuel for added range. Anti-tank weapons have sophisticated "tandem" and "shaped charge" explosive configurations. There are different weapons on the battlefield for a reason.

Putin got bad intel. I think he thought he could roll into Kiev with a hero's welcome and oust Zelensky. Even now I think he thinks that if he bombs enough civilians into freezing this winter that they might somehow...learn to like Russians?

Putin is an imbecile. There is no path to win here. He is just causing the all of Ukraine and all of eastern Europe to hate him.
