    https://nypost.com/2022/11/20/kevin...boot-several-dems-from-committees-as-speaker/

This past spring McCarthy promised to kick Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar off of their current Congressional committee assignments. Democrats took the unprecedented move to kick Republicans off of their committee assignments this past Congress and denied others from joining the January 6 Select Committee.

Adam Schiff has allegedly leaked information to the press from the Intelligence Committee and constantly lied to the American public about the evidence he has had in committee. Eric Swalwell promoted a foreign spy to the top of his campaign team and reportedly had a sexual relationship with her. Nobody knows for sure what information he may have shared with her before he found out she was a spy. Republicans claim he could not hold a security clearance in the private sector and has no business on the Intelligence Committee. Both are expected to be removed from their current assignments in the new Congress.

Ilhan Omar has a long and consistent history of anti-Semitism that even her own party has had to condemn. Her position on the Committee of Foreign Affairs is baffling. She is also expected to be removed.

This is clearly a tit-for-tat move by Republicans and I don't necessarily agree with it. I don't like the road this is headed down. Democrats would still be "up" on the number of Republicans they removed or blocked from Committee assignments. It is unclear of there will be more Democrats removed or blocked to even out the numbers they engaged in the current Congress.

Well, I think at least McCarthy's list for disempowerment is much smaller and more select than so-called 'progressives' trying to 'cancel' anyone even slightly to the right of the radical left agenda. Plus, in my view Slimy Schiff doesn't deserve to be on any committee.

Not a surprise since McCarthy decided to kiss the hind ends of the QUANON wing the the Republican Party because he believes that is his only path to the speakership.

And he was able to do it while trying to find his spine. That's "talent".

McCarthy should refuse to seat any Democrat who cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 2016 election (which was certified on January 6th 2017), or who hinted that Trump might be an illegitimate President.

    @FarnoushAmiri

'McCARTHY confirms Swallowswell (Banger of Fang), Schiff & Omar will be off committees they’d previously served: intel/foreign affairs. “Swallowswell can’t get a security clearance in the private sector. I’m not going to give him a government security clearance. Schiff has lied to the American public…”

I think we can be quite sure that Representative Kevin McCarthy [Ed.: It's a real act of willpower to keep from using a reference to Charlie of the same sir name,] will not attempt to remove Representative George Santos. There are two reasons. First, it requires a supermajority vote of the entire House and, second, the Republicans cannot be certain that Mr. Santos would be replaced by a Republican.

    'Nuf said.

We can find solace in the knowledge that our elected representatives are men and women of the finest character.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

We all knew this was going to happen after Pelosi took the precedent setting action of being the first speaker in our history to deny the minority leader his choices of who he would put on a house committee. That had never happened before. Whether Pelosi did it for valid reasons or not is probably in the eye of the beholder and debatable. McCarthy’s actions seem more in line with political payback or revenge, but once again, this is in the eye of the beholder and debatable. Since Pelosi set the precedent, the example of what a speaker had the power to do, McCarthy following suit, following her precedent should’ve be expected. Pelosi provided another partisan tool to be used by those in power. Using it against the democrats, tit for tat, karma or whatever.

One thing for sure, the democrats have no reason to howl, rant or rave over this regardless of the reason. They did it first, they set the precedents. After all, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. I’ll add, why in the world would the democrats expect McCarthy to be the gentleman, to have the higher moral ground and not use Pelosi precedent setting example for political payback when he can? Were they that dumb?

Because they're used to being treated with kid gloves from the media. The media will largely back Pelosi's decision to kick Republicans off Committees. But, they will likely relentlessly attack McCarthy for doing it. Democrats know they have a lot more rope to hang themselves than Republicans do.

It's Karma. Another thing Pelosi and company ought to remember is once the toothpaste is out of the tube, there’s no way to put it back. Pelosi and company opened the toothpaste tube and then squeezed it out.

Adam Schiff's leaks really should exclude him from important committee assignments where he could gain access to sensitive material. Even during all the silly impeachment stuff the Republicans he hated never spoke about sensitive material from the internal investigations and obeyed his gag order... even when he was lying and committing perjury. He really is a sleezeball of epic proportion and doesn't belong on these Committees. That said, it's crazy to think we are in a place where we are blocking people. Ilhan Omar, for example, is clearly anti-Semitic and a bad representation for our nation, but I don't think she should be blocked.

I think Schiff should be held to account for all the lies he's told this country. Excluding him from committees should be the tip of the iceberg. IF the Democratic Party had any scruples they'd ask for his resignation.

The fact that they didn't call for Menendez to resign after it came out that he was raping children overseas is enough to tell me that they're okay with bad behavior from their party. But, God forbid a Republican makes an okay sign. Menendez just went underground for a few years before coming back as pompous as ever.

Nobody should want the aforementioned three corrupt Democrats on any congressional committees.

I'd say that given the behavior, ie, Swalwell and his Chinese mistress/spy, Schiff with his current allegations of abuse of office, and being the ring leader of the Steele documents for cover for his abuses, and Omar seems to be as antisemitic as anyone I've seen in public life... Can you provide any justification for them serving on the committees that they do?

Omar tends to make a fool of herself nationally. But it seems the people of her district like her foolishness and anti-Semitism. Since that the case, I agree with you.
