Newt Gingrich praises Biden, warns GOP against underestimating president https://www.aol.com/news/newt-gingrich-praises-biden-warns-190906794.html I gotta say. Just as Biden far surpassed my own expectations, he's even beginning to grow on members of the Right. Go ahead. Talk amongst yourselves. It's just coffee talk!
What Newt said was We dislike Biden so much, we pettily focus on his speaking difficulties, sometimes strange behavior, clear lapses of memory and other personal flaws. Our aversion to him and his policies makes us underestimate him. Yet most people know it isn't Biden running anything. Even his own media (CNN in particular) rates Biden as incompetent.
I, for one, am pleased to see Biden following Trump's America First policy, much to the consternation of our European allies.
Joe Biden is just a stand in for senior officials, like Blinken. Those are some very smart people and should not be underestimated. Since they've chosen someone who barely knows where he is at any given instant as their public face we should keep our eyes on the behind the scenes actors.
More importantly, Biden is basically a decent, reasonable man and will not turn his administration into a dictatorship that's all about HIM or HIS party. You can see this clearly by comparing his speeches with that of Trump's.The result is what we've been observing in almost 3 years in office. Even as an establishment politician, Biden's political enemies cannot now deny that he's become the image of restoration & stability after inheriting a train-wreck of a nation that Trump left. Biden is not a showboat or a blowhard. He's a results man. And we should keep in mind that although the President has a team of senior advisors, he still has the final authority on what gets passed. Just take a look at the laundry list of Biden's policy achievements. NOTE: The following list represents only about HALF of the entire list of what Biden has done during his FIRST year in office. “We dislike Biden so much, we pettily focus on his speaking difficulties, sometimes strange behavior, clear lapses of memory, and other personal flaws. Our aversion to him and his policies makes us underestimate him and the Democrats,” Gingrich writes. He even compares the current president to Republican predecessors Dwight D. Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan, both of whom at times benefited from similarly low estimations. As the legendary journalist Murray Kempton wrote of Eisenhower in Esquire, “He was the great tortoise upon whose back the world sat for eight years. We laughed at him; we talked wistfully about moving; and all the while we never knew the cunning beneath the shell.”
