Well,,,, ALL of them that would stand in the way of him being re-appointed. I really can't understand how any true American can see that statement as anything but dangerous.

It's like the character, Tony Montana in Scarface, "Me, I always tell the truth, even when I lie." !!!!

I love how the new Trump supporter excuse is, "You can't say he wanted to terminate the Constitution! He only wanted to terminate the parts of our Constitution that deal with our elections!" This is just sad.

Frankly, the news has done it so much, my knee jerk reaction is to ignore it and get my news elsewhere. I am not going to waste my time reading the content if they cannot be accurate in the title. Secondly, I won't click them and give them more money in advertising.

An appointment to POTUS would be unconstitutional. An election redo is not, as they have been done many times, for as little as a faulty ballot counting machine.

I think many people just read the headline or only a sentence or two.
I've found that many journalists, in order to stir controversy or interest, will take an otherwise mundane subject and phrase it in controversial ways, in the headline and first paragraph, but then walk it back later in the story.
I try to read or watch what the person actually said instead of reading someone else's take on it. Takes a little practice, but I like to see quotation marks and don't like it when they pick up or leave off in the middle of what was being said. I try to read the statement in it's entirety.
Takes more time and effort, but it's worth it to me.

You'll notice that was only one part of an 'or' scenario, with the other (more reasonable) option being "have a NEW ELECTION". And by 'reasonable', I of course mean- we've had many election redo's in our history, for as little as a malfunctioning voting machine. Calling for an election redo is hardly 'terminating the constitution'.

    Facepalm

Twitter not allowing Hunter Biden's emails for a handful of days somehow equates to evidence of such a magnitude of fraud that that it warrants overturning a presidential election results.

Such was the claim when it was supposedly 'Russian bots' on Facebook in 2016... Personally I don't think either warrant an election redo ...but neither is calling for one in either case equatable with 'terminating the constitution'. The propensity of voting 'irregularities' otoh, that is certainly precedential grounds for a new election imo.

"A massive fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the TERMINATION OF ALL RULES, REGULATIONS, and ARTICLES, EVEN THOSE FOUND IN OUR CONSTITUTION."

Emphasis mine so you can read it easier.
A massive fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules . . . even those found in our constitution.
Then he demands the election be either thrown out, or a new one held outside the schedule decided by the constitution.
Do explain how he's not saying terminate the rules of the constitution.

    I sure do.

Do you know the difference between mentioning something and calling for it to happen?

    (a) It's pointless trying to defend the position that Trump called for the entire constitution to be terminated. His statement clearly implies he wants some of the constitution to be terminated, at least for a time, but there's no way to get to the absolutist position many people are taking here: "allows" is too passive a verb. In this, I agree with the criticism of the MSM, always going for the more sensational angle.

    (b) If you care more about the MSM exaggerating this story, rather than the de facto leader of the Republican party suggesting aspects of the constitution could be terminated in order to return him in power, then I'd suggest your priorities are completely broken.

I've already covered how desperate this excuse is.

That's what they are talking about.

Could you point me to the post? I only made it half-way through the thread. It's not an excuse on my part, but maybe you'll convince me I'm being too charitable,

Thanks for confirming that you you really don't know what you're talking about.

    You said:
    "He called for a re-election, not a 're-appointment'

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    He called for either or.

Overturn the election and call him the winner
    or
Overturn the election and call a new election.
