Does refusing to wear Pride symbolism mean that you hate LGBT people?

Apparently it does! At least according to the unbelievably dumb, leftist sports journalists, reacting to NHL player Ivan Provorov, who declined to participate in an LGBT pre-game event because of his religious beliefs. According to them, this means that he hates LGBT people, even to the point of thinking that they don't have the right to exist, according to one particularly dumb guy. So what are your thoughts?

You have to wear the ribbon.

Hate is an overused word by the left. The things said about this hockey player go against the left’s rules of tolerance, inclusion and diversity. Everyone must agree with everything the left says or they will call you a hater and much worse.

The team was wrong with making a woke social statement, that’s not why they’re here. I no longer watch football because of wokeness, I would have stopped watching MLB due to wokeness but I stopped back when they went on strike for the playoffs. And I stopped watching the NHL when they started going woke a year ago.

By the way, leave it to the Flyers to make the players go woke, they’re the same team who removed Kate Smith’s statue. Where is Dave Shultz when you need him?

I don’t think it necessarily means they hate LGBT people but it could be an indication. I know most of the people that get upset over an icon typically are because they are opposed to it however.

That he threw in his religious beliefs — is most likely christian (statistically) and homosexuality is not even mentioned in the original biblical texts — only adds to it.

He should be free to believe whatever he wants however

Since he used religion as a justification then I assume he does.

What would happen if they were required to wear a jersey with a Christian cross and the words "Jesus Saves"?

One is about equal treatment and equality for people alive on this planet — the other is for one version out of hundreds of belief in the supernatural.

    Doesn’t compare

Now if there was one that said Christian’s deserve equal rights then you would have a similar point.

I don't wear Pride symbols because I'm not gay (sorry guys). Why would that mean I hate LGBT+ people?

One is about supporting the official state religion and the other is some sort of unsanctioned religion that has a divinity.

    Doesn't compare.

I am a lifelong Flyers fan

I had zero issue with his decision and I think the hullabaloo about it was ridiculous.

Freedom of speech (expression) needs to be respected

no more than refusing to say "Under God" means you hate Christians

if he doesn't want to participate, that is his choice

I support equal rights for LGBTQ, as should we all, but doesn't mean one has to participate in such events - but if he speaks out against LGBTQ having equal rights, then he is an idiot and against equal rights for all

wonder if he knows many players are LGBTQ

I'm not religious and I wouldn't wear it either. I hate identity politics and people shoving their agenda down my throat.

Absolutely NOT. To judge a person views on a topic or issue simply because of the willingness to wear a symbol is ridiculous. It is like refusing to wear pink on anti-bullying day, or wear a flag pin or fly a flag. Instead of judging people on symbols just talk to them and ask their opinion on the matter.

"Equal rights for LGBTQ [people.]" Do they currently not have equal rights in some parts of the country?

Well for these absolute idiot leftist sports journalists, his refusal to participate in this event which would have involved the pride symbolism, IS him speaking out against LGBTQ people.

    Many NHL players?

Yes, with each passing day our world is more and more like that classic 'you have to wear the ribbon' Seinfeld episode!

So what is the 'icon' related to pride symbolism?

I wouldn’t wear it, but I’ll admit it. I wouldn’t wear it because I don’t like them. They don’t have to like me either, I don’t much care.

When has someone said that they hate LGBT people because of their religious beliefs?

No, the former is a forced statement of capitulation to a dogma forced upon it by a small insane portion of the population that says if you don't do everything we tell you, you must be eliminated from society. It therefore is much more comparable to islam than anything else.

Inevitably, many would refuse, and the culture would have no problem with them doing so.
