Does the crew still sit atop the magazine as in previous Russian tanks?

Previous Russian tanks also had fully automatic loaders, but with circular magazine under the crew. Auto loader allowed reduction of crew to three (vice four in the Abrams). Btw, our son who was an Abrams platoon commander said the extra (fourth) crew member was handy for putting treads back "because they always come off."

Sitting on a powder keg: The T-72 tank’s fatal flaw

Other tanks on the modern battlefield generally store their ammunition away from the crew, behind armored walls. The Russian T-72 main battle tank’s ammunition sits in a carousel-style automatic loader directly beneath the main turret and members of the crew.

This is from the day or so.

I am always happy to read reports of invaders being killed or maimed yet I wonder how close to the reported number does the actual number of dead invaders. Is another report I saw report of an SU25 and a couple of Moskhail choppers being shot down.

Maybe in a Year or even two years. They are needed now and US found a way to drag its sorry ass out of the now.
Germany will deliver from its own stock the most advanced Leo2. Explain to me why the US can not do that.
The US found a way and a sorry ass excuse to chicken out.

    Bun
At this stage in the war if the west does change its mind and sends jet fighters to Ukraine by the time that is accomplished it will not likely help.

    • “;Donald Trump appeared to criticize a decision by the US and Germany to provide tanks to Ukraine.
    • "FIRST COME THE TANKS, THEN COME THE NUKES," Trump said on his social media platform.
    • Trump also suggested ending the war in Ukraine would be "easy," without elaborating.” This is from www.business insider

...yeah it will.....its the long term deterrent. European political and social and economic and defence dynamics have been irreversibly changed and will continue to changed for the next 50-100 years all because of this idiot cnut in the Kremlin. So...it's never too soon to start.....

This just solidifies the contention that the Biden administration made the M1 tank announcement just to get Germany to send theirs and not object to countries such as Poland ( and others) sending tanks to Ukraine. I had posted that the Biden administration did this to give Germany cover and make it itself feel good. Zalensky poured the thank yous for the tanks on Biden and he of course thanked Poland.
At least the tanks will be in Ukraine in time for the next Russian invasion.

Well just as I said about the M1 tanks maybe the jets will help the next time Russia invades.
This is just a Ground Hog day deal that keeps playing over and over.

I said before that the aircraft Ukraine should have pushed for before the invasion was the A10 Thunderbolt II which was to fill the roll of tank buster against the Soviet expected advance to and through the Fulder Gap. The Ukrainians did a fairly good job against that forty mile line of Russian vehicles and tanks but A10s could have totally decimated that forth mile line of invaders. Hell even F84F Thunderstreak could have done a fair enough job. No I will not say the P47 could have unless the Ukes had a 1000 of them to throw at that column.

meh......A-10s a heap of junk...can't operate in hostile space independently......and the guns a crappy myth....the A-10 is okay in sterile airspace like Afghanistan where all you had was a few goat herders butt fkucing each other.....
I think I'm the only person in the world that thinks this aircraft is not up to the hype.... The A7 was a much better aircraft but bloody Air Force skewed the trials so the A-10 would come out on top as they didn't want the Navy aircraft.....:hiding:
There was that report in 1979 the title of which is an essay in itself which over hypes the guns/aircraft's performance against T-62s....anyway old news....F15E is the aircraft....equipped with the snipper pod and them wee winged bombs
