43-year-old Christopher Michael Wright of Maryland was beaten to death in front of his children on Friday, according to Wright’s fiancée Tracy Karopchinsky.

Karopchinsky told WBAL-TV her 14-year-old son had been in a fight at the local middle school and that a group of three teens and two adults showed up at their home looking to attack the child.

Wright reportedly told the five people the boy would not be going out to fight, to which they responded, “If he’s not going to fight, then you’re going to fight.”

Next, a scuffle broke out and the father was allegedly beaten to a pulp in front of his teen sons before being taken to a trauma center where he was pronounced dead from a traumatic brain injury the next day.

“Just looking at the damage that was done to him, that wasn’t just punching that did that. … I mean, the damage was done before the ambulance ever took him away. He had had a seizure. It was done. There was nothing that the hospital could do,” Karopchinsky explained.

Both Wright’s home and a neighbor’s house captured the incident on security cameras.

Karopchinsky said when she tried watching the footage she had to stop after seeing her 12-year-old son screaming, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy” and running out of the house to go into the street and help his dad.

Liberals constantly want to know why anyone would want to own a gun let alone carry a gun. This story speaks for itself. There is an obvious question here regarding the perps that is unlikely to be addressed by the media. Here is a possible hint. No description of the suspects was provided.

Isn't the issue with that obvious? If you make it easier/more likely that the victim had access to firearms, you also make it easier/more likely the attackers would have access to firearms too. That could turn the already tragic event from a beating to a shooting, meaning even more people could have been at direct threat of injury or death. It could even lead to the fight at school which apparently triggered all this ending with gunfire. Simply banning guns isn't a magic answer to anything but simply adding them isn't either.

Killing someone is preferable to avoiding the conflict? Killing someone in fear is worse than just going into your house.

I kind of agree, but it doesn't solve the long term problem. He stays in the house and calls the police, the bullying and torment of his child would grow 10x. Kid can't stay in the house forever, and those animals would be waiting for him at school, after school, before school, etc....

As to the only real solutions, you gotta move away from shitholes and teach your kids how to defend themselves.

Part of teaching your kid to defend themselves, is teaching them the difference between when to fight and when to avoid a fight.

I agree, but this was definitely an escapable situation. Being smart should always come before being tough.

 

Oh I agree, father would have been better off calling cops at that moment obviously because now he is dead. But I don't think that would have solved the problem, beyond for the moment.

agreed. The police would have given them a good talking to as they wouldn't be able to show any crime that they had been involved in. They would then kill the kid the next day somewhere out of sight and then gotten off again.
