78 felony counts over 3 indictments and yet to be handcuffed, mugshoted, or even have to post bail. They let him keep is passport for cripes sake. And here he is violating the judges orders while speculating about leaving the country.

Can you imagine where we'd be if that was me or you?

We'd have been woken at 6AM with a knock (or not) and a warrant, stripped of our phones, belts, wallets, and shoelaces, and frog-marched out in handcuffs in full view of media and everyone else to be hauled down to the station to processed including mugshots and fingerprints, then left in a holding cell until we went in front of a judge to arrange some sort of bail package.

And the second we threatened a witness or prosecutor we'd forfeit our bail and be back in a cell.

It's time to stop with the special treatment and treat Agent Orange like the criminal he is.

 

I want to see the guy in cuffs as much as anyone, but I get why he's getting the soft treatment. The DoJ has to tread carefully for the sake of optics. Yeah, the MAGA gargoyles are going to say it's a political prosecution no matter what. Regular folks and the rest of the world need to see that there's still respect for those who have held the office, though, even when they don't deserve it.

I agree with @Burzmali that some deference should be given to a presidential candidate. But it should not be unlimited. And Trump is abusing that deference. I believe he needs, at a minimum, a gag order about the cases. If he wants to run on becoming "the victim", then he should seek a speedy trial. Not delay. NO honest judge should fall for that.

Tens of thousands of people rioted, looted, burned, assaulted and murdered over the course of months and the VP offered to bail anyone out on the off chance they got arrested, and where the MSM said property damage is not violence.

One protest where not person was armed, where property damage was minimal compared to your typical left wing riot, where the only person who died was a white woman protester, and where the end result was nothing changed other than AOC needing therapy for PTSD. People were locked up with no bail, the FBI scoured the entire country looking for anyone who was there, people got arrested just for standing on the grounds and a wall was put up around those grounds even though we are constantly told walls don't work.

If "they" want to insure Trump's nomination, treating him like any other citizen by expediting the cases against him is the way to go, if his candidacy demands that he clear his schedule.
