You have noticed that the justice department does not control the State of Georgia or the State of New York.
You have noticed there is evidence in all of these cases.

Trump should not be found guilty simply because he is Trump neither should he be found innocent because of his name. Either would be part of a two tiered justice system
In my opinion many of his supporters do not want the country to look too closely at the facts in these indictments and hence stand against an open jury trial.

It is worse to allow a president to abuse his power or to allow someone who purposefully tried to undermine our election system in an attempt to thwart an election loss to go unpunished. People keep comparing what's happening to Trump to banana republics and third-world dictatorships, but it's the exact opposite. In those places, corrupt people who abuse government power and the law are NOT punished. That's why the comparison is made in the first place, it's what the negative connotation is. Donald Trump is being held responsible for his very purposeful actions. That is what sets us apart from third world dictatorships. Trump would get away with what he's done in one of those places. At least that's not happening here.

I don't trust polls anymore. It's 2023, and many people have only cell phones, and there is no such thing as the whitepages for cell phones. That started because at first, one minute of airtime cost $0.25 or more, and that's after you bought your phone and plan, and that added up. I think you even got charged if you called and nobody answered, which happened a lot more back then because voicemail was also relatively new.

But, more on point, I have not been polled in at least 20+ years, and I've asked around, and nobody I've asked has, either. I have no idea who they're calling, or on what phones, but since cell numbers are unpublished, I don't even know how they can get an adequately randomized sample for their results to be within their stated margin of error, because more often than not the past many election cycles, they haven't even come close!

"now the swamp is throwing the book at him”??? How do you reconcile your view here with Trumps own hand-picked attorneys, staff, and aides testifying UNDER OATH against Trump? How do you deal with the fact that nearly all of the testimony against Trump came from those same “loyal” Trumpers?

LOL!!!!!! Trump is the “diamond in the rough”? No, he’s the turd in the bowl. ALL of Trump’s carefully hand-picked and “loyal” attorneys, staff, aides, and “friends” are all “RINOs”!!! Do you have any idea how ridiculous that would be?

    They may be TINOs.

Wait and see more of his accomplices who are also charged along with him, turn against him and testify for the prosecution.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAaaaaaa

The staff picks weren't hand picked by Trump himself. Those were delegated out by those who promised trust. If you remember in the first few months there was continual leaks.

That’s your LIBERAL BIAS speaking. If you were objective like me you would know that Trump is the hero of the American story.

    Trump wanted to end democracy.
Trump lost and can't stand to lose.
So he invented fraud elections. Even before they happened.
It's all he could talk about before each election.
    He's a sore loser.

    Potential crimes must be investigated.
No matter who tried to commit them.

This stuff isn't just 1 entity.
Ga is all on it's own.

Except for whining about finding about 11,000 votes in Ga, per his recorded phone call.

he is not charged with those things, but others which are. Now I think that if he would have not run again these charges would not have been brought, I think people would have let sleeping dogs lay. But then he wants to run again and people on the opposite side of his views believe that what he did then would be just a mild prelude to the next time.

I have been polled at least three times in the last 10 years but I do love the notion that polls should only be centered around you and if you haven’t been involved then they must be fraudulent.

    Fascinating

That said the original question wasn’t directed at you and made the statement that “the average American” — I was simply asking for evidence which of course @Just A Man declined to even bother justifying, as typical.

Yet Your supposed narcissist spoke consistently in terms of we and us and our unlike Obama who almost always spoke in terms of I and me and my. And Biden follows the same damn pattern on the rare occasions he says anything coherent at all.

Was Questioning, the Questionable GA Election Illegal?
'The indictment alleges a vast conspiracy, supported by 161 “overt acts,” that ultimately comprises Count I, a violation of Georgia’s RICO statute. The problem is that' 99% of the acts are clearly legal acts. 'You can’t aggregate a series of legal acts and make them a crime by calling them a conspiracy.'

'in the wake of the election, there were many claims of voter fraud. Some of these proved to be true, I think, while others proved to be incorrect. But so what? It is not, in general, a crime to make false statements. If it were, Washington would be a ghost town.'

'alternate elector slates are unprecedented, and in any event there is nothing illegal about identifying such would-be electors'

In fact in the disputed 1960 presidential election in Hawaii, Democrats actually sent an alternate elector slate, and that alternate slate ended up being the one seated by Congress.

'Taking legal steps to try to overturn the apparent result of an election is not illegal. That is what Al Gore did. It is what Stacey Abrams did. It is how Al Franken got into the Senate. It is not a crime to make a bad legal argument. If it were, the U.S. would be suffering from a shortage of lawyers.'

    Read the whole thing.

Oh, I can't wait for this!

The Hill reports, "Trump said he would present his “large, complex, detailed, but irrefutable” report at a press conference in Bedminster, N.J., next Monday.

“A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey,” he said.

“Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others — There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election,” Trump continued. “They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!”

Of course, he's lying. I wonder how he will get out of it this time.

    He has lost it.

    Sandy Shanks said:
The nation once recoiled at presidential candidates caught driving under the influence or swiping lines in a speech without credit. Now one of the two major parties has not ruled out a front-runner charged with conspiring to subvert democracy, endangering national security, obstructing justice and falsifying records of hush money to a pornographic film star.
    **********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The AP reports, "Donald Trump and 18 allies were indicted in Georgia on Monday over their efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss in the state, with prosecutors using a statute normally associated with mobsters to accuse the former president, lawyers and other aides of a “criminal enterprise” to keep him in power.

"The nearly 100-page indictment details dozens of acts by Trump or his allies to undo his defeat, including beseeching Georgia’s Republican secretary of state to find enough votes for him to win the battleground state; harassing an election worker who faced false claims of fraud; and attempting to persuade Georgia lawmakers to ignore the will of voters and appoint a new slate of electoral college electors favorable to Trump."

Most of Republican candidates for President are defending Trump.

“The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society,” DeSantis.

Haley said she “would be inclined” to pardon Trump.

It’s hard for me to believe that politics didn’t play some role in this decision. I’m not convinced that the president acting on bad advice of a group of crank lawyers that came into the White House in the days before Jan. 6 is actually criminal,” Pence.

“We’re watching Biden’s D.O.J. continue to hunt Republicans while protecting Democrats,” Scott said.

“But a bad judgment is not the same thing as a crime, and when we conflate the two, that sets a dangerous precedent,” Ramaswamy.

There is something seriously wrong with the Republican Party. It is so bad that its members on this forum refuse to discuss the issues involving their party.

In addition, we are reminded, he is a is a serial law breaker. Those are the sort of people who catch the notice of law enforcement often enough to feel persecuted, when they get caught by more than one law enforcement agency, in more than one jurisdiction.
