Having said that, the voting habits of US Citizen Latinos are not as different vs Non-Hispanic voters as people think (44% pull for GOP).

He admitted he opposes immigration only when he assumes the people coming in would not vote for his political party, hence he was ok letting 3 million illegals in from Cuba, because they vote Republican. Additionally he thinks everyone else thinks along the same lines. That's what partisan politics does to people.

Using that logic, they'd be perfectly fine with the current situation if they assumed the newcomers voted Republican. Of course we know they can't vote for anyone. Only Cubans were given automatic citizenships.

No it is not. Cubans were actually persecuted. Most of them were entrepreneurs and there lives were upended by a nasty Marxist dictator who confiscated livelihoods.
Our illegal invaders are just fleeing their own poverty brought on by the rulers they put in office. Work is not a reason for refugee status. So many express their gratitude to "Joe Biden". He is their "golden calf" and American citizens will pay for their livelihood.

Its already banned, but if they need to change things, then why don't they do it? I told you the other day what they could do in short term and long term. They are in control of the House, so its not like they can't act.

It seems obvious that keeping the problem serves them better because they can keep regurgitating the talking points about "open border", and "they come here to vote for Dems" and "vast majority come here for welfare bennies". Its a valuable campaigning tool, which is why they were quick to kill the 2012 reform, which would have built a wall, and added all kinds of measures to shut it down tight.

IMO a wall won't work, but I'm ok building one and its not like we can't afford it, but the money needs to be allocated. I'm ok with whatever stops the crying, whining and hand-wringing.

Well, there is a process to amending the Constitution.

 

The VAST majority of illegal immigration starts off as legal. Do you want to stop people from coming in legally?

 

Then hire several thousand more immigration judges so deportations can be adjudicated, reform the quota system for immigration, hire more civil servants to process immigration applications and reduce the 8-10 year waiting list, and revoke all “special” immigration exceptions like the Cuban wet/dry law.
