Since 2007 Hamas has launched ~ 40,000 rockets and mortars at Israel. 13,000 in 2023.

They have killed Israelis. Hamas has killed Israelis. This and the loss of life in Gaza will continue until Hamas is completely eradicated from Gaza. This will return peace, safety, and economic prosperity back to Gaza just as was the case before 2005.

What is your solution for returning safety and economic prosperity to Gaza?

are you implying that this is the reason the IDF killed them?

Irrelevant. Hamas' indiscriminate killing does not excuse Israel's indiscriminate killing.

No, that does not contain any answer. So I reapeat, what would the hostages have had to do for the IDF not to have gunned them down?
Is there anything the hostages could have done to survive this encounter with the IDF? It seems there isn't. And you appear to be defending that.

Irrelevent. They were there. The IDF killed them without making any significant effort to determine who they were.

That appears to be the case. AFM has refused to say otherwise despite being asked repeatedly.

The level ignorance so many hold regarding this awful war is hard for me to understand. A genocide is taking place and the US government supports it. It sickens me to my very core.

You have your answers including their relevancy.

Answer your own question - what could the hostages have done differently? What could the victims of October 7 have done differently?

The genocide is being perpetrated by Hamas. Genocide is in their charter.

Gaza is being destroyed. By Hamas. The destruction started in 2007. Prior to that Gazans enjoyed peace and prosperity.

Gaza is being destroyed by genocide:

    https://chrishedges.substack.com/p/...title&isFreemail=true&r=cqtc&utm_medium=email

"Israel has dropped almost 30,000 bombs and shells on Gaza — eight times more bombs than the U.S. dropped on Iraq during six years of war.

"It has used hundreds of 2,000-pound bombs to obliterate densely populated areas, including refugee camps.

"These 'bunker buster' bombs have a kill radius of a thousand feet.

"The Israeli aerial assault is unlike anything seen since Vietnam.

"Gaza, only 20 miles long and five miles wide, is rapidly becoming, by design, uninhabitable."

Was the ginger man who was screaming for help in Jewish a human shield too?

Nothing. And I won't defend either Hamas or the IDF in that. You do. That's sickening.

I think ethnic cleansing may be the better label. Israel does seem to be open to the Palestinians leaving and never coming back, and appear to be seeking to move them. Sick yes, but not necessarily genocidal. It may be. Plausible, as the ICJ found.

Correct. The genocidal charter of Hamas is responsible for the hell hole that Hamas has created in Gaza.

Yes, why does Iran, the UN, and humanitarian charities support the genocide of Hamas. Hamas employs young children as suicide bombers and human shields. And then pays the families (including Hamas terrorists who participated in Oct &) a stipend. All this money comes from stolen relief funds. Why doesn't Egypt allow refugees to cross the southern Gazan border?

I’m so happy you know of this charter. Do you know anything about what Israelis have said and done to Palestinians for decades? Apparently not.

Israel was created by the UN partition plan of 1947. They were immediately attacked by five Arab nations whom they defeated and gained territory. Israel has been defending itself from attack since that time. Hamas based in Gaza is just the latest Arab attacker.

Israel's strategy is to eradicate Hamas from Gaza for the good of both Israeli and Gazan civilians. Both Israeli and Gazan civilians want Hamas gone. This has been shown upthread.

Hamas would not have any power if not for the past actions of Israel towards Palestinians. Hamas IS a force of hatred and does need to be undone, but it is also a resistance movement formed in direct response to Israeli abuse.

It was formed due to actions such as the OP and after it is whipped out, another similar group will rise due to IDF action such as the OP. Israel is creating it's future enemies.

    Agreed.

And Israel’s response to Hamas’ terrorist actions, is to commit much greater terrorist actions.

Israel has been defending itself from Arab attack since 1948. Hamas has its roots in the Muslim Brotherhood. It is funded by Iran.

Israel gained control of Gaza as a consequence of the 1967 six day war. Gaza was a safe place to live and Gazans enjoyed economic prosperity until Hamas gained control of Gaza by force in 2006 after Israel left in 2005 leaving behind infrastructure for the continuance of this prosperity. Instead Hamas used the equipment to build infrastructure for launching rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians in 2007. This has continued until the present but the October 7 massacre has resulted in the present strategy of Israel to completely remove Hamas from power in Gaza.

What is your plan to temove Hamas from power and bring safety, security, and economic prosperity back to Gaza.

That is not correct. Israel and Gazan civilians want Hamas eradicated from Gaza. If Israel wanted Arabs eradicated from Gaza they could have done so in the forty years from 1967 to 2005. Israel could have also eradicated the 2 million Arab Israeli citizens living in Israel. Israel did not do that. Israel is fighting in Gaza now in defense of their citizens and also ironically in defense of Gazan civilians.
