That is sadly true. Those are the type of people that will sell their very souls for the false promise of security.

I suspect it was the opposite. My bet is that he expected to die whether he was in Russia or in exile, so he decided to go home. Force Putin to either let him roam free at home to keep fighting or put him through the show trial he got. He chose to 'die on his feet' so to speak, rather than die in hiding away from home.

He isn't the first person to make a choice like this - return knowing you will likely die. Perhaps he hoped that whatever he did in Russia would serve as a rallying point for others. Not sure. He wasn't the naive type. I'm certain he had a fair idea what was waiting for him but took a calculated risk.

I notive the Putinbots are quiet tody. Talking points not transmitted yet I assume.

What is surprising is how long it is taking for the Orange Stain to issue a public compliment over his boss’s execution of a political opponent.

It can't be forgotten that this is a serious issue before the Supreme Court of the USA.

Is the US president immune from prosecution?

May he, as President, execute his competition?

Putin merely demonstrates the importance of the question.

Not to worry, Biden told Putin he better not kill this fellow or there would be terrible repercussions. Putin is probably locked in his safe room shivering with fear

The "consortium" is probably trying to frame this as a Western/CIA plot to discredit RuZZia and Dear Leader. Basically would indicate how weak minded and 3rd world the masses are.

While I'm sure the Putinbots would willingly lap that up, the Kremlin will only put it out as one of their 'nod nod, wink, wink' stories that aren't expected to fool anyone. They want Russians to know who did this & why. Sometimes they put out a bunch of lies in such circumstances, but they only expect the weak minded like Tucker Carlson & other Western dupes to actually believe that stuff. Its almost done as a deliberate joke for Russians to be in on. Their target audience knows what happened....and they are supposed to know.

Accidents and natural deaths do happen to prison inmates sometimes, and they do happen to inmates who previously were poisoned by somebody else in a position of power and authority over those same prisons. You guys need to take a chill pill until the postmortum is done and foul play is ruled out as I am sure it will be.

You actually believe the former KGB colonel will allow any truth to be disseminated regarding Navalny ? If you do that’s a very naive road to travel on.

Russia's state media reported that the cause was a blood clot. Navalny went for a walk and he suddenly collapsed. It is possible that fluctuations in blood pressure from temperature differences in Arctic Russia triggered a cerebral infarction or myocardial infarction. Blood pressure is higher in the winter because low temperatures cause blood vessels to temporarily narrow. Greater blood pressure variability has been associated with the risk of stroke.

You are reading my post literally. You should not be. We are talking about Putin, who's bio is sitting all over the internet. My tongue is in my cheek.

You are sort of missing the point here. Even if he wasn't murdered in prison, he was killed by Putin. Putin had him poisoned, Putin had him arrested & Putin put him in a prison inside the Arctic circle. So Putin did this. Not even a question about that.

In any case Putin is to blame for this death as he sent Navalny to prison for 19 years, that is more than killers and rapers get in court in Russia.

“I made it clear to him that I believe the consequences of that would be devastating for Russia,” Biden said.

He continued, “What do you think happens when he’s saying it’s not about hurting Navalny, all the stuff he says to rationalize the treatment of Navalny, and then he dies in prison?… It’s about trust. It’s about their ability to influence other nations in a positive way.”
So yeah, it wasn't Biden threatening to do something to Putler or ruZZia, contrary to what you originally claimed.

Navalny death is a pre-election gambit from Putin, anti-Kremlin activist Bill Browder says
Published Sat, Feb 17 20248:29 AM EST

Anti-Kremlin activist Bill Browder said he believes Alexei Navalny’s death was intended as a message to political opponents of Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of elections next month.

    ...

“Well this is happening before the presidential election and I should use that word lightly, they don’t do elections in Russia, it’s the fake election. But Putin has to create the sense of legitimacy and the last thing he wants to do is to have Alexei Navalny saying things from prison that gets people to not support Putin,” he told CNBC’s Silvia Amaro Saturday at the Munich Security Conference.

“And so I think this is a pre-election gambit that Putin is taking, kill his main opponent and send a message to everyone else that if you get involved with opposition politics you die, that’s the message.”

The UK must end Putin’s dictatorship after the death of Alexei Navalny | David Herszenhorn

It's reportedly so bad in ruZZia now that school kids making pro-peace drawings in school are reported and persecuted, their parents locked up, etc.
