Trump calls GOP candidate with a history of offensive remarks 'Martin Luther King on steroids'

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump likened North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson to Martin Luther King Jr. in an endorsement Saturday, despite the gubernatorial candidate’s long history of controversial comments about homosexuality, religion and victims of sexual abuse.

“This is Martin Luther King on steroids,” Trump said of Robinson at a pre-Super Tuesday rally in North Carolina.

“I told that to Mark. I said, I think you’re better than Martin Luther King. I think you are Martin Luther King times two,” he continued as he offered Robinson his endorsement in the Republican gubernatorial primary on Tuesday.

David Hogg and the rest of these silly little immature "media prosti-tots" need to grab a passy, have seat in time out, and shut up.

We have pushed homosexuality over the top. Mark my words PEDOPHILLA is next, which will be closely followed by the END of civilization as we know it.
    https://www.facebook.com/mark.k.rob...ysuej56q775xFkBNDfZLhrRjjbGXqPRnyz4AwJDznXS3l

“Mark Robinson called the Holocaust 'hogwash' and now uses the slaughter of Israelis and Americans to perform a transparent political stunt," said Kate Frauenfelder, a spokeswoman for Stein's campaign. "This is as close as he should ever get to being governor."

Robinson in a past Facebook post called reports of the Holocaust "hogwash." In a separate 2017 post, he implied that the widely accepted figure of 6 million Jews killed by the Nazis is false.

Will there be any blowback for Trump due to his endorsement of a Holocaust denying homophobe who takes great issue with young victims of gun violence exercising their 1st A right to advocate for gun control? Nope.

What the heck happened to you guys?

Missouri GOP moves to toss 'honorary' member of Ku Klux Klan from governor's race

The Missouri Republican Party said Thursday it was working to remove a Republican candidate for governor from the primary ballot after a picture of him appearing to do a Nazi salute while standing in front of a burning cross resurfaced online.

In the picture, the candidate, Darrell Leon McClanahan III, is seen apparently saluting alongside a hooded man in Klan robes.

“The Missouri Republican Party has been made aware that Darrell Leon McClanahan III filed for Governor as a Republican despite his affiliation with the Ku Klux Klan, which fundamentally contradicts our party’s values and platform,” the party said in a post on X Thursday. “We have begun the process of having Mr. McClanahan removed from the ballot as a Republican candidate.”

McClanahan responded in a post on X, saying in part, “The GOP knew exactly who I am. ... What a bunch of Anti-White hypocrites.”

It would be wrong of me to imply too much from this. But I do wonder why this guy feels at home in the former GOP, now the POT.

So Republicans oust this guy for his KKK associations and you wonder why this guy feels at home in the GOP?
So why do Democrats feel at home actually having a self proclaimed KKK grand dragon as one of their Senators for 35 years?
Does the name Robert Byrd ring any bells?

If I understand you correctly, you are admitting that Trump has a good hand.

I still don't understand why you guys will never forgive Byrd for leaving the KKK and going on to support civil rights. Why do you guys hate him for that?

More importantly, how about climbing into the new millennium and hold parties accountable for their current choices? We get it. We concede. Democrats have a bad history with respect to civil rights. But how long ago was that? How much time has to pass before we talk about the actions of those who are currently serving?

Maybe its because you obviously have the wrong Robert Byrd.
Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan who wrote the following in a letter to Senator Theodore Bilbo: "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

The same Robert Byrd who filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act for 14 hours. Where did you get any idea he was supporting civil rights?

Around 2000, he was told "Be sure you avoid the Ku Klux Klan. Don't get that albatross around your neck. Once you've made that mistake, you inhibit your operations in the political arena." Byrd made no secret of the decision he made to downplay his segregationist views in order to advance in Washington and move toward the mainstream.

On top of which, you ask about why Byrd isn't forgiven for being an actual Klan member, but you guys are the first to claim the Klan supports what ever Republican suits your immediate political needs?

    Please

Someone needs to do more homework. Funny how the NAACP loved him . . . but I assume you have some conspiracy theory about that. And please don't accuse me of making claims I never made. It is weak and dishonest.

You mean like claiming Byrd supported Civil rights when he actually filibustered it for 14 hours?
Or did you want me to post one of your quotes about Trump being supported by the KKK.
Do tell, what is the accusation you dispute?

As in he later supported civil rights and was praised by the NAACP for it and he publicly criticized the KKK. Which, again, you guys will never forgive him for.

That would be hilarious. You go and do that. Hint: you should probably actually read them before posting them if you don't want to embarrass yourself further.

That he never left the KKK.

I'll take an old but successful prez who would have achieved a legislative improvement to the humanitarian crisis at the border if not for Trump.............to a twice impeached, 4 times indicted, disgraced ex-prez who surrounds himself with criminals, was found financially liable for sexual assault, financially liable for business fraud, well..........you know the rest.

No party in the country's history has the kind of shitty candidate the POT has. That's true for the third time in a row.

Democrats forgiving Byrd? How convenient since you have no choice.
You don't just turn off that kind of inbred hatred.
All Byrd did was decide it was in his best interest to stop publicly hating blacks

I respect your opinion that poverty, poop, open borders, crime, inflation, and a lower quality of life for poor and low income is "successful."

Success is different for everyone. The crackhead considers himself successful when he scores some crack.

I do admire your honesty on how awful trump is and not how great the dem party is.

No President Biden did not cause the illegal immigration problems

It need Bi Partisan Legislation to correct

Trump almost took it on the walked away

There needs Facilities to be built and personal hired ( Judges and officers )

The amount of money to fix this needs Bi Partisan support

A smaller fix had Bi Partisan support yet Trump blocked it to help his re election

Chris Christie had a great plan

Trump is just using this to Fear Monger his supporters

Trump used Covid to shut the border

He also had some other policies that the Courts overturned

    Trumps policies wouldn't work today

The countries where these people are coming from have become more dangerous

We need to support Ukraine and fix our border

Trump had Mike Johnson refuse to bring up the Bi Partisan Legislation for a Vote

Why is everyone scared of a Loser, Liar, Tax Cheat and wife cheat ?

I enjoy insult attempts as they reveal ones inability to defend a position on merit. There is no need to tell me that Trump lies. I already knew that. Anything that comes out of the mouth of a politician is to be considered false until proven otherwise. Since I am not here to toot a parties horn for them, I will not be engaging in the tired "Look at how great my party is!" debate. Results show that those the Dems claim to care the most about are worse off. If you think Trumps popularity is because he is such a great candidate, fair enough. I see his popularity as a symptom of results your party is known for.

Such a reply indicates a lack of familiarity with Biden's accomplishments, only some of which are detailed by Politico. It also lacks even a passing attempt to explain why you think Biden is responsible for the assertions you made about people Dems "claim to care the most." Making me wonder if it's due to one's inability to defend a position on merit.

"I see his popularity as a symptom of results your party is known for."

Leaving me to speculate you are against greater access to healthcare, clean water and air, less gun violence, a woman's right to choose, an end to gerrymandering, campaign finance reform, equal treatment for minorities of all kinds, progressive taxation, etc.
