I think the prime reason is that they are all convinced that they will become wealthy and they want all the goodies for when they become wealthy.

It's just a smoke screen to hide their runaway spending. They will never implement this tax. The rich are largely leftists. Dare them to put the tax into place, they will find some way to weasel out of it.

We're supposed to beg them not to raise taxes on rich Lefties, and you know what? I could care less. I demand that they increase their taxes.

Raise taxes (the more kinds or forms of taxes you spread the increase to, the more you can dilute the impact on each one), Cut both domestic and military spending. ( the more programs you include on the chopping block, the more you dilute the impact on each one). Support the 'grand bargain' for shared pain or don't whine about the deficit.

This way of thinking boggles my mind. Let's say you work hard and earn $100k per year. You spend $140k per year. Is "I've got to make more money" the first place you go or is it more like, "I've got to quit spending so much money"?

I don't think it's necessarily that they like taxes, it's their belief that government is the only agency for change in their minds.

The libs are willing to fund any amount of tax (largely with other people's money) through forced taxation because they government us capable of fixing social issues by throwing money at them.

It's a truly misguided and poorly thought out perspective.

The idea of putting a minimum 25 percent tax on billionaires is pointless, and actually sort of totally stupid and asinine.

For them to even be considered billionaires (for tax purposes), they need to have had a large income, and that income will be taxed.

The real elephant in the room they don't want to talk about is that capital gains income is treated in a separate category from personal earned income for tax purposes.
Stop putting it in a separate category and many issues would be solved.

There are plenty of taxes they wouldn't like. Just take the sin taxes that target my every interest and turn them around on their interests.

A purple hair tax would infuriate them. A tax on burning down Wendys'. A tax on deplatforming people. A tax on mastectomies for trans folk. There's all sorts of taxes they wouldn't like, they just don't exist because the tax code is run by bureaucrats who share their worldview.

To spend for Military action for 30 years and not pay for it then complain about the Debt is what boggles the mind

Keep putting it on the USA credit card then whine ?

We increased taxes for WW1 and WW2 to pay for the war

Then we started listening to politicians

Even Israel has increased taxes to pay for their current military action

    Wake up

Taxes are at their Lowest in 30 years and to offset that our Debt is up

    Its not that complicated

Well Republicans should stop bailing out Democrats from the result of their feckless policies. If Democrats are in power and want to raise taxes (or any other policy that is easily reversed once Republicans return to power) they should let them rather than fight them tooth in nail to protect the rich.

The Democratic Party is funded by very rich donors who virtue signal by funding and supporting Democrats than count on Republicans to bail them out of their worst excesses. I mentioned Bill Gates in my post for a reason. During the last Democratic primaries he supported a wealth tax until Elizabeth Warren ran to the top of Democratic candidate list (this was fall of 2019) supporting a wealth tax. Suddenly, Bill Gates changed his mind on the wealth tax.

So I simply think that people who support policies should get them, good and hard (to paraphrase Mencken).

It's not that liberals want taxes they just believe in paying the bills. It seems the most common plan on the right is to keep spending and to borrow money from the rich with interest rather than collect taxes from those same rich.

    Plan on paying the bills?

How exactly is Biden planning on paying for those federal student loan bail outs?
