Short answer is because the company already paid taxes on the profit. The stockholders ARE THE COMPANY. Each stockholder is just a portion of the company. So they already paid their share of the taxes owed.

This is different than dividends. The company does not pay taxes on dividends. So dividends haven't been previously taxed.

Inflation, especially during times like these, is also built in. If inflation is 20% and the value of the stock increases 20% you haven't made any real profit. You can still only buy the same amount of stuff. Yet you get taxed as if you made a 20% profit so you actually end up losing wealth. During the last 3 years prices have doubled. Yet the markets have not doubled. Therefore on average there has been no increase in wealth. Yet taxes have been substantial. Doubly substantial at a rate most economists realize is already above the Maximum Revenue point.

When you vilify those "Rich Greedy Corporations" you really aren't talking about sticking it to the rich. Most companies are owned by a spread of everyday average citizens. Some wealthy, some not so wealthy like your grandmother living off $50K from her savings investments. You are more than double taxing her too.

The Economic Policy Institute is a Marxist group whose purpose is to highlight the injustices of capitalism against the workers of America, and to emphasize the injustices against women and people of color caused by anti-blackness, slavery, colonization, oppressive policies, practices, and institutions; and the persistence of structural racism, sexism, and xenophobia today. There vision elevates the importance of racial, gender, and worker justice as central to the world they want to see. They were created by far left radical Marxists (likely Soros, Russia and/or the CCP) in an effort to eradicate capitalism in the US by encouraging social animosity and upheaval among the working class in America.

The first step in learning to do research and think for yourself is to consider your sources. I spend 80% of my time first looking at what the source is and what their motivations are. Once I've located the proper source and data I do my own analysis or closely check theirs for validity, with a healthy dose of mathematical and statistical education. It is all too easy to alter the method of statistical analysis in a manner which tends to give misleading results.

You must be more careful in the future. The internet is full of Russian, CCP, Hungarian, Soros disinformation. It has actually become quite sophisticated and subtle at times. It is also EXTREMELY well funded. They have each set up dozens and dozens of websites with a hundred or more employees each. One will go out and publish a highly biased and misleading "statistical analysis" with some impressive sounding source name. Then the other hundreds of sites will link to it around in circles until it gets picked up by lazy journalists and the like. You do know you can google ANYTHING and find someone out there in agreement. Even, "Flatulating in public dramatically improves health and human lifespan". Maybe so, but my guess is you should forego the health safety should you ever manage to even obtain a first date.
