This is probably the best move Comer could make. Impeaching Biden will make him a victim and martyr to the left and then there’s the Harris factor.

    Criminal referrals!

Brilliant move by the patently stupid Comer. It allows him to concede his investigation is a sham, yet allows him to create another delusional conspiracy theory with his wailing that somehow there is a DOJ coverup on his criminal referrals.

Spawned from his failure, a new MAGA conspiracy theory is born!

I am guessing that Comer is not a believer in the MAGA "absolute immunity" thing their leader crows about all the time.

Or just the selective application of the fictional thing.

One would think that wit the mountain of evidence Comer claimed to have, an impeachment would have been almost guaranteed.

He does have evidence, what he doesn't have are people like Liz Cheney on his side, you know, people on the other side of the aisle willing to do, as Cheney puts it, the right thing. Instead of putting Biden's future up for a vote that many people will vote against, now one person, Garland, can take over and continue with the investigation using the full force, authority and investigative powers of the DOJ.

How does Comer intend to make a criminal reference when he and all his cronies are unable to say what crime Biden has committed?

We can all agree that in this case, the pathetic line was crossed a long time ago.

A sitting president cannot be indicted on criminal charges.

At least it has some entertainment value. I can't wait to see what kind of pretzels they tie themselves into trying to think of exactly what kind of crime that are referring. They couldn't think of one during their hearings, so they may have to just throw a dart at a list or something.

The funniest thing about this is going to be reading the MAGA excuses. How many hundred threads do we have on this forum dedicated to the 'mountain of evidence' against Biden, and now Comer won't even put impeachment to a vote. Another reminder that this was a sham from the start. Only a moron or a fanatic (same thing really) could have been taken in by this.

This makes more sense than an impeachment for actions that occurred before he became President.

Criminal referrals by congress are common and rarely go anywhere.

So Congress now has authority to recommend criminal charges on private citizens? Oh boy.

That's where the controversial ruling of 1967 comes in. In it, SCOTUS permitted Congress to violate our tax privacy provided that Congress could show a "legitimate interest".

Now, guess who gets to decide if it's a legitimate interest? Yep, you guessed it: Congress.

Now, it was only about taxation but who's to say that they couldn't recommend criminal charges against private citizens?

Congress grew more powerful in the Trump years and is now the most powerful of the three branches. Now, depending on where you lean, it's a good/bad thing they're so incompetent with it.

So what crime does Comer plan to refer? Been how long now and no one has listed a single crime that Biden has committed.

    Totally LMAO at Comer...
There was ZERO Chance to ever get a Majority of the House to Impeach Biden...
Comer slinks away with his tail between his legs...
And everybody pushing the Biden Impeachment narrative looks like a bunch of brainless idiots...

AJ, Biden has been exposed for what he is, there are still a lot of unanswered questions and Harris ain't never gonna be in charge. The polls say Biden either did something wrong or probably did something wrong. If Garland has any integrity, he'd follow up with those criminal referrals the same way he allowed Hur's report go through without editing out Biden's dementia.

If he is charged with any offence, do you reckon he ought not be a POTUS candidate, or POTUS? If a Court finds he acted unlawfully, do you reckon he should not be a POTUS candidate or POTUS?

I haven't seen any documents of Biden evading taxes of selling his office.

Biden called in during meetings to ask how the weather is. Should the DOJ investigate that?
