All of Belgium, and across the world, Tintin fans have been looking out for this film for about two years! I can't wait -- only a couple of months and he'll be released!

A fantastic tribute to Belgian comics. The Smurf film is coming out too, but that's nothing for me to be quite honest.

    Tintin is like absolutlely awesome!

And FINALLY -- after a long two year wait -- the very first trailer!!!

    OMG!

I went to the official website (www.tintin-movie.net) where you can see the trailer in full screen, and it's awesome.

The amount of detail, e.g. of the houses (typical small black "window" for the gutter next to the doorway -- typical for Belgian houses of the 1900-1930's), the car brands (e.g. Citroën, a French brand that doesn't sell in the USA but they are really famous) etc. is just magnificant!

    Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!

He's world-famous! The comic is about 80 years old!

Maybe less in the States, but that's going to change then with this film!

You didn't even read comics before you went to bed, when you were a boy?

I realize there is a cultural difference here, but comics out here are considered the "9th art".

And it is absolutely "not done" for boys not taking an interest in Belgian (and French) comic books like e.g. Tintin, Lucky Luke, The Smurfs, Asterix etc.

Some people keep on being interested in comics, like me. But only on an amateur level. I'm not in a club and I don't know many titles at all -- meaning that I read comics like "Largo Winch" (they are awesome!) et al. So I only read the really famous ones to be quite honest.

    OK,...

He really is world-famous, even the Dalai Lama reads them and also see what Charles De Gaulle had to say about him: "My only international rival is Tintin".

In other words: Tintin rocks! :)

I'm really amazed by this. He really is world-famous and some of the comic books were absolutely revolutionary. For instance his two albums about space exploration "Destination Moon" and "Explorers On The Moon" were written before the moon-landing, even before manned space-flight -- but it was so very accurate. Which is really astounding if you ask me!

Then, go to your library and loan one of his books. Or buy one (they aren't cheap!).

Because you are on PoliticalForum I reccomend "King Ottokar's Sceptre".

Well I certainly do thank you for that advise. but I am going to have to pass. Mainly because at my age, I just don't get into those kind of things anymore. I would rather read national geographic or newsweek or the like.

But I am sure that it would prove to be quite intresting.

Just to make sure that you know, but "Tintin" is very suitable for adults too.

Many, serious, adults over here read comic books.

Like I said, it's considered "literature" over here -- and it is the "9th art".

Maybe you could try out "Largo Winch" -- that is solely for adults, and I'm sure you'll actually learn something about the business world too.

You know Largo Winch -- he's really famous too!

Or maybe you could try "Murena" set in Ancient Rome during the rule of Emperor Nero. Although I'm not sure they appear in English -- lot's of nakedness too so I don't think they get published in the States.

So happy! The visual is amazing, almost jump-off-the-page good. Of course if this disappoints me I will have to disown Spielberg forever...

OldTimer, Tintin is the name of a fictive Belgian reporter that travels the world in the 1920's-1930's and has all sorts of adventures!

Today was the world premiere in Brussels, and the film comes out in Europe and Asia this wednesday. It will be released in the Americas in two months at the beginning of Christmas-season.

All of Belgium is going Tintin-crazy right now and I really, really, really (!) hope that the film is going be good -- since America recently took our Smurfs too and placed them in NYC. How outrageous!

Official USA Extended Trailer -- best trailer ever!

BUT WAY BETTER, interview with Spielberg and Jackson themselves! Hurray!
