Why is New Zealand such a powerhouse of morality?

So we've legalise what people have been doing for thousands of years. And Americans have been doing for a few hundred.

It's called "private" enterprise.

 

Collectivist Prostitution vs. Privatized Prostitution, its a moral dilemma for sure. Adam Smith, "Father of Capitalist Prostitution vs Karl Marx, "father of collectivist prostitution. Its really just a fundamental problem of distribution. How to lessen the disparity in the availabliity of prostitutes relative to income level , so that all men are treated equally, or at least are reasonably satisfied with the service.

This is of course, is a severe problem in the USA, where Corporate prostitution has been sanctioned by the Supreme Court. In the pioneer years, before Asian and Mexican female workers were readily available, American men had relatively the same probability of service, with only the occasional gold miner having more income to spend. But supply was still limited, so the law of diminishing return was in effect. At that time in history, enterprenurial prostitutes were able to make a fairly good living, but were without satisfactory safeguards. The real trouble began when the Rail barons began to manipulate laws so that working prostitutes could no longer operate. Fortunately, Teddy Roosevelt allowed unions to be formed, which in effect, was the first collectivist prostitution experiment in USA.

Unfortunately, the collectivist prostitution concept was short lived, and with the rise of Christian capitalists, the workers themselves were deemed to be illegal. This Neo Victorian imperialism reduced prostitutes to 2nd class citizens, and in fact made them criminals.,
However, as evangelicalism spread, the demand for service increased, and by the 60s, entrepreneurial prostitution was being decided state by state, with Nevada leading the way towards a newly reconstituted Collectivist prostitution with worker rights, housing, and security provided by government funding.

It was a fairly successful market until the collapse of the gold standard, and the oil crisis, which returned a political party to power in the US congress, that while advocating a new free market prostitution, failed to recognize as the Victorians did, the worth of the worker herself. This combined with NAFTA, and the flight of industry to China, created a new disparity among American men once again. Those with affluence having immediate service available, while the worker class, was deprived by a Corporate capitalist imposed lack of supply at a time when more Asian prostitutes than ever before were offering services. It is the very monoply that Adam Smith warned about, and which Marx recognized as the main problem with capitalist prostitution.

How can USA survive this new Corporate controlled prostitution? How is an American man supposed to live with such contrived and blatantly discriminatory limitation of prostitution services? I say it is time for a prostitution revolution, like our New Zealand progressives, and let the working men of the world join hands with our prostitution providers and take back our government.

 

Its time to move the more important and relevant discussion that affects both Americans and NZlders alike, to the forefront.

Hmmm. This has nothing to do with morality. But it may reduce the crime rate in the smoking population.

 

It will, at least, reduce the smoking rate in the criminal population.

But if the prisoners are allowed to smoke, then their medical care cost goes up. Since that cost is payed by the law abiding citizens, carrots are a much more practical solution. The prisoners will get healthier, or will kill themselves, either way, saving cost to the taxpayers.

 

Do Kiwis do anything other than herd sheep? It's easy to be morally superior if you never do anything.

That's probably why so many Kiwis come to Australia. So they can say they have actually done something. Mind you, it might just be lying on one of our glorious beaches.

Actually, collies herd the sheep. Kiwis haven't the sense or ability to herd anything other than booze. They have an incredible rate of alcoholism.

hmmm. West Aust has a lot of Maoris here, particulary in the mining industry and having worked with many of them I would hardly describe them as dregs. Quite the opposite.

I rarely drink anything alcoholic and then only in strict moderation. A practice that quite a few Kiwis could benefit from.
