The programs worked. It created millions of jobs. The conservatives were wrong. They've made it worse. You can try to spin as much as you like but it doesn't change the fact. It worked and the conservatives have made it worse by their actions.

Baseless opining is fun and easy.

    Absolutely true!

A Jan. 9, 2009, report called "The Job Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan" from Christina Romer, chairwoman of the president's Council of Economic Advisers, and Jared Bernstein, the vice president's top economic adviser projected that the stimulus plan proposed by Obama would create 3 million to 4 million jobs by the end of 2010. HEH!!

The report also included a chart predicting unemployment rates with and without the stimulus. Without the stimulus (the baseline), unemployment was projected to hit about 8.5 percent in 2009 and then continue rising to a peak of about 9 percent in 2010. With the stimulus, they predicted the unemployment rate would peak at just under 8 percent in 2009.

    HEH! HEH!!

    What does Obama say now?

CBO estimates that ARRA’s policies had the following effects in the fourth quarter of calendar year
    2010:

o Increased the number of people employed by between 1.3 million and 3.5 million, and

o Increased the number of full-time-equivalent jobs by 1.8 million to 5.0 million compared with what would have occurred otherwise, as shown in Table 1. (Increases in FTE jobs include shifts from part-time to full-time work or overtime and are thus generally larger than increases in the number of employed workers.

    http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/120xx/doc12074/02-23-ARRA.pdf

Non-partisan analysis by IHS, Macroeconomic advisers, and Moody's also show job creations by the stimulus in the 2.1-2.5 million range.

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/cea_5th_arra_report.pdf page 16.

*CBO: Between 1.3 million and 3.6 million jobs saved or created.
*IHS/Global Insight: 2.45 million jobs saved or created.
*Macroeconomic Advisers: 2.3 million jobs saved or created.
*Moody’s Economy.com: 2.5 million jobs saved or created.

May have been a little on the high side, though those reports were before the total stimulus had been implemented, I think.

Apparently so given your post. Looks like you're having a ball with it. How about giving some links for these wild claims? This country has been losing jobs ever since this clown took office.

I'll get right on it just as soon as you prove the claims in the post to which I responded.

The only problem with your post Iriemon is that according the the BLS there were 141.7 million people working in this country. As of May 2011, the last month for which figures are available, there were 139.8 million people working. I'll let you do the math.

700,000+ jobs were being lost every month when Obama took office. How is that a problem with my post?
