Here comes more sharia. Thanks Obama!

Libya's liberation: interim ruler unveils more radical than expected plans for Islamic law

I wish we had game-plans before going into these countries to change the regimes. Iran should have given us a clue 40 years ago, that the new regimes can often be worse than the old ones. Yet Obama refuses to lead, and spikes the football anyway. Now we've encouraged Egypt and Libya to rise up only to created to extremely hostile & ultra islamic nations? Now we have missing rocket launchers in the hands of terrorist? Wouldn't we rather have wanted them in the hand of Gaddafi who would be to afraid to use them on us?

And who's going to pay us for all the work we did? Any free oil? No, instead we're told thanks, now ****. How stupid are we under our current leadership?

Meh I agree to a degree, I see no reason why the West should waste it's time in little hell holes such as Libya. If they want to kill each other then let them, Libya has no serious and direct consequences on us and worse it is impossible to sat what kind of government we're going to see rise out of the ashes.

As Rush put it, "Gadhafi Is Dead, 'Radical Islam' Is Alive"

I just don't get why we spend billions of dollars helping out a partner we know nothing about. In fact, we had plenty of clues there were muslim brotherhood and AQ ties. It's almost like we fall for the underdog syndrome. We help whoever is the weakest as if that somehow indicates who's the most righteous.

    So?

Under Hussein, women had jobs, wore skirts, went out alone, went to and taught school, had a full place in society.

Now, under the leaders we installed, they have nothing.

Islamists and the USA's interventions have exactly the same effect on women's freedoms.

And at least with Iraq, Bush had the sense to stay in there and try to influence things. What the heck we're doing now is anyone's guess.

Agreed... The middle east is sometimes like Africa.. the only difference is that some countries have oil... but the west is slowly breaking its dependency on oil so if they want to kill themselves so be it.

Just check out Egypt -- they are still killing each other there...

And at least the motive for going into Iraq was self defense as even the Clinton's, even Ted Kennedy, even France believed they had WMDs. Lybia was merely a humanitarian mission. Now we may end up responsible for the brutal slaughter of thousands of non-muslims living in that area. That's humanitarian? Mind boggling.

And BTW, I blame McCain and all the other republicans that wanted us in there. But I would imagine those also want us sticking around to make sure even bigger jerks don't take over.

What Obama hasn't figured out is with a dictator you know what you have by his history.

If you back a revolt you do not know if what you will get will be better or even friendly to you

It is too early to see where Libya is headed at the moment. It will be interesting to hear people's reactions if we start seeing convicted homosexuals being executed in Libya and women having their faces cut off by their husbands for alleged infidelity along with all the other reprehensible activity you often seem to get under sharia law. Will you liberals still view what has happened as a victory? What if the extremists start throwing acid in the faces of little girls to keep them from attending school? What will you think about it all then? I'm not saying this is going to happen, I'm merely pointing out that there are certainly people in Libya right now who would not hesitate to implement such a system. Hopefully, those people will not prevail.

I'm sure The Mellow Guy will be thrilled if sharia law prevails, since he will view it as the people's exercising their right to self-determination. Will you cheer as the first homosexuals are hung?

If our game plan is "democracy", then we have to confront the dilemma of letting people having autonomy.

If we chose the nature, the content, or the representatives in another nation's democracy, it wouldn't exactly be a democracy, would it?.........I mean, that kind of sounds like we would be taking on the role of King George's England if we did that.

Libya has a long way to go before we're going to be able to even tell what their foreign policy is going to be.......

Why don't you advise Rush to read the Libyan Constitution?

I guess Rush also forgot about Gadhafi's role in terrorism.

Rush could never be successful without his unswerving belief that Americans are stupid.

    Rush?
Why are you talking to me about Rush?

Does he fit into your Stockholm thing or something?
Cause personally I don't really care to talk about the jerk.
