Personally, i think that if people realized that same sex preferance is not normal, then educating the globe would be easier on how to identify and deal with these kinds of predators. Not the facts. Joe was told something about someone doing something, which Joe took up to the AD and the VP of PSU. Those 2 individuals have been charged by authorities for failure to alert authorities, not Joe. What Joe knew, he passed along to the people who handle such things.

Paterno reported it to who he should have. BUT HE DIDN'T follow it up. He saw nothing happened, that much is obvious. This guy who did these things continued to exist on his staff and nothing more from Paterno? You can bet your next paycheck I would have been ALL OVER THIS if it was in a department I lead. Where are the rioters for the children and families whose lives have been destroyed?
Funny how Paterno now wishes he had done more now that the whole sorted affair is out in the open. Paterno surrendered his moral authority to lead and teach any group of young adults when he decided to protect himself and the college rather than saving a 10 year old child from being raped by Sandusky. Exactly. Paterno should've AT THE LEAST quietly fired this guy. Paterno was without a doubt the most powerful person on the Penn State Campus. If he wanted this guy fired, it would've been done. Could've been done quietly, but it should've been done.
the entire penn state football program should be cleaned out....they had to know..look at the time line of the case....it was a total cover up...and on the mcquery matter ...when i report a crime i expect to fill out a police report....he knew and did nothing....joe pa knew and did nothing....and more kids were abused

At a MINIMUM, Paterno knew about an incident and didn't follow through with what he reported. And that's enough in my book for a charge so incredibly heinous as this one. I find it very hard to believe that is all he knew. I find it very hard to believe that others didn't know more. Would you all be satisfied if it comes out that the Board knew that Paterno knew more? Also, I don't know why society protects those at the top. They are just as important a human being as the bum on the street. People at the top should not be untouchable. The school acted appropriately, and I hope parents explain it to their rioting children when they go home for the holidays. I do feel for the students...they deserve better than this. Has anyone even apologized to students, alumni, and fans???
