... and the rich, greedy and morally bankrupt know it.

Which is why the poor will always be poor. They let themselves, through their own stupidity, be subjected to poverty engineered by the rich.

They have ways out of this dismal situation. In democracies they can vote to change it. In Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and Syria they can and do fight to change it ... with their blood.

In America (and New Zealand), where they would dramatically change the political landscape if they had any will to do it, simply by force of numbers, they are apparently having too much fun being poor. A few OWSers aside.

In NZ, we have another rightwing government now bent on selling public assets to the highest corporate bidders. This has happened because a million voters (27% of those eligible, and mainly lower class) did not bother to vote. Many of those who did vote voted, like many Republican voters, in the hope of achieving a dream that is less real than industrial pollution.

The poor actually work hard at being poor. And so, they will always be poor. Because they are terminally stupid.

And the rich know that. And they find ways to encourage it.

As one of the rich, perhaps I should rejoice.

so the rich are clever, and the poor are not, could it be the rich can buy their cleverness, but the poor can not, do you still believe that there is such a thing as democracy, look at America, one can tell who will be President before a vote is cast, just look at the financial contributors--few noticed ,prior to election, that Obama was a Wall St puppet, leading funding coming from Goldman Sachs,to one who was seemingly offering little to the corporate elite.
Then you say you are rich, 'rejoice now for the genius has arisen'?, is that your considered opinion,? pray tell us,enlighten our paths with your intellectual brilliance, but mind how you tread ,for I am but poor, and have only my dreams,do not dread on my dreams !

The poor are dumb, unsuccessful, stupid, unuseful, and people that deserve to die. Absolutely.

    No genius, I'm afraid.

    Just an absence of stupidity.

I don't think the vote will change much of anything. Your right though the poor are poor engineered by the rich. As long as the rich are allowed to influence our elected officials, like they were with NAFTA and Free Trade, allowing the banks a free hand, we will continue to have the poor.

But even the rich aren't that smart. They have made some major blunders. Like inventing the VCR and selling it to Japan because they couldn't see the big potential in it as a product most Americans would want. Signing over the plans to their television industry to Japan to produce because they were shut out of their market. Our government should never allowed the Japanese to do that. It cost us the lose of a whole industry. Our government has as much to do with making the rich richer than anything the rich has done. They only took advantage of what government gave them.

Harsh indeed. But one must wonder why anyone should bother to try to save them.

When they cannot be bothered to try to do so themselves.

I am one of the poor and object to being called stupid. I am definitely not stupid, I have three university degrees and until 2 years ago I was earning a 3 figure salary. I am poor because I gave everything away, because IMHO the rich are stupid, wait about 3 to 5 years then repost.

Your post is so devoid of intellectual substance that I can only conclude your being rich was just an accident at birth.

Rejoice? In what? Your arrogant narcissism and complete myopia? Go right ahead. :puke:

I think that no one is getting the point that Awryly wants to do...

But I disagree in giving to them the fault of that.

Do not believe I think the poor should be where they are.

But you can believe (there are mountains of evidence for it) that that is where they doom themselves to be.

It is just, for the rich, a convenient fact.

I think until we felt the effects of Free trade and the housing and banking collapse, most of the poor were that way because of bad choices they made in their life. Things like quitting school, getting pregnant and not married. Marrying a bum that wouldn't work, getting on drugs or alcohol, etc. But most of the poor now has come about because of Free trade and the collapse of our economy and has nothing to do with being stupid. For a person that claims to be so smart, suggesting changing things by the way you vote, isn't the smartest thing to say. Both sides are corrupt and bow to the will of business. Unless you change that, it makes little difference who you elect.

Au contraire. I am far from stupid. For one thing I bother to vote. Because, if you do not, you change nothing.

You in the US are especially disadvantaged.

You have a thoroughly corrupt, and badly but conveniently designed, political system that ensures the poor will never win any rights they might deserve to have even if they bothered to take the trouble to exercise them.

Simple----like all intrusions, these were the innocents, murdered by NATO with the full support of the USA, the question really is, who were these rebels ?,who was paying them,in whose interest was it that Gaddafi was murdered, not arrested, assinated, just like Bin Laden, and why is there still unrest in Libya, still dying in Egypt, and who are the rebels in Syria, who has the Nuclear bomb---Iran---? who is benefitting from the unrest in Pakistan, indeed whose causing it ? what is the game plan in Iraq,Afghan, why are there troops still there ,Obama promised didnt he ?---come you are not that big of fool, governments no longer govern, Eisenhower warned in the 1950s,Kennedy in 60s,but but before all Smedley Butler, war is a racket, the industrial war complex calls the shots, and these shots are laid out in simple plain paper by the corporate elites.,and you talk of the poor being stupid ?

Well I am happy now, where before I wasn't. I was constantly working at just keeping everything going. Now, no house, just my car and a trailer and the road. A lot went to the Aboriginal community and other charities. My children understood and have similar beliefs to those I have now.

I was like all, well most of you, I had a house, two cars, very good job but ended up divorced, mental breakdown, etc. So I just sold everything. Gave the money away after I bought a trailer and a 4wd. Let's wait and see who was the smartest

You live in the US. I don't.

Where I live we have developed a political system that is not corrupt.

Maybe, one day, you will too.
