Europeans like to paint their continent as the most civilized place on earth even though nothing could be farther from the truth.

 

They don't always have to be stronger, one is enough.

Beside, if you think about out, it makes sense, a criminal will likely only prey upon victims that appear to be weaker than the criminal is. Thus any criminal a person encounters will probably be stronger than that person is.

 

Thousands of unarmed women are raped every year. When you are unarmed you have no defense against a rapist.

 

Why do you think there are courses that teach women how to defend themselves against rape? For example, a few months ago, Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York City, New York experienced an increase in rapes. The community decided to take a stand by providing self-defense classes for women. Since then, I have not heard of an increase in rapes in the area. You do not need a gun to defend yourself against a rapist.

Guns are effective, but I would suggest that self-defense without a gun is equally effective. I will reference to my statements on Park Slope, Brooklyn as an example.

 

IMO no one should be smiling while posing with a gun. Guns are for self defence, not happy snaps.

 

Depends if the attacker is able to disable you before you even realise there is a threat.
But self defence classes should be enough to get you out of trouble, I would think.

My wife weighs 100 lbs. No simple self defense class is going to allow her to handle a 200 lb male attacker.

Guns are safe and she is a law abiding citizen, there is no reason for her not to carry a gun.

 

Alright, that is your opinion. However, have you ever experienced a series of rapes in your area? If so, has your wife been concerned for her safety? How did she think she should be defended or how she should defend herself?

 

It doesn't matter how skinny you are, its about how strong you are. I am not very big either, but I am a hell of alot stronger than I was. Its about skills and how you use them.

 

She isn't very strong and she has a heart condition.

And no simple once a week class is going to teach a 100 lb woman to handle some 200 lb convict who spent the last 3 years in prison lifting weights. That's utterly ridiculous.
