    It will be 3rd.

98% reporting and he's more than 4k behind.

Santorum would be a perfect GOP candidate for a Ron Paul 3rd party run.

The next 2 contests are primary's and will have a LOT more people voting in them. Santorum is probably going to fall flat on his face in NH as the evangelical vote there is next to non existent when compared with Iowa.

Santorum got the "We are still Neo Cons, but anyone but Mitt Romney Vote".

We will see how that plays out in the next few contests, I imagine him and Gingrich will trade that vote depending upon how religious the particular state is.

Interesting letter in the Guardian this morning showing how only Paul supports any policies sensible people here might also support. Trouble is he comes from some other planet.

Yes, he comes from Planet Earth, whereas the others come from Planet Pretend-Our-Lunatic-Policies-Are-Mainstream.

This contest was really Paul vs. the Media, and the Ministry of Propaganda still has too much power. The Internet must stay free and uncensored.

Well, I think that planet consists of rather more than the affluent bits of the US, but it should be an interesting struggle.

Most of the people who support him are 25-year-old waiters sending in $30 in rent and college-debt money, while Obama and Romney receive their top contributions from big banks like Goldman-Sachs. Don't equate a philosophy of economic liberty with "the rich."

If God wills Ron Paul to win, it will be an interesting struggle. If it's Goldman-Sachs Romney vs. Goldman-Sachs Obama, it will be the most boring, media-manufactured struggle you can imagine.

IMO, Ron Paul (whom I REALLY WANTED TO WIN, btw) pretty much had to take Iowa to have a realistic chance at the nomination.

I believe the only realistic chance he has now is if the economy absolutely tanks or America has some huge foreign policy blunder that both Romney and Obama had initially backed by July.

But I am assuming that a) the latter won't happen and b) the economy won't tank because if it begins to that Obama will just tell the Fed to QE3 it back to temporary health until the election is over.

I am afraid Ron Paul's shot at the POTUS is probably done.

Looks like it will be up to his son Rand or Gary Johnson or someone else to bring America back to political relative sanity in 2016.

Though I hope I am wrong.
