Smoker. Quit once for 2.5 yrs....and got back on em because of my love of cigars. Boat ride feeling chilly and more than a bit drunk. Into the hot tub, double caesar in hand. A buddy of mine was smoking a cigar and I broke. Next morning wobbling here and there hung over...scrounging around to see who had a spare smoke.
Hi Smartie, Firstly, I applaud you for your commitment to stop. I'm sure it can be difficult, but equally confident that you can be successful. For me, smoking is something that I just never picked up. ...the same can not be said of a good drink and fast women.
I smoked a little in high school and a lot in college. Just quite one day. Was not hard for me. Same with pot. On occasions I still smoke pot. When I got married my wife smoked, and I hated it. She went to a hypnotist and did not even tell me. A week went by until I took noticed and she told me. She said she was pounding them down in the car on the way to the appointment. After the appointment she lost all desire to smoke. It has been so long I barely remember her as a smoker. She has referred around a dozen people to this lady over the years. Only one has relapse and went back to smoking. All others have never started again. Some of these folks were a pack or two a day smokers. I could not believe they quite. I had no faith in any of them........ This is where she went: http://lpgmindworks.com/stopsmoking.html They hold an 85% success rate. I don't buy into this stuff, but the facts have proven me wrong.
An occasional cigar and pipe tobacco. Smoked some on New Years, it had been months since the last time I lit up either a cigar or pipe.
I'm causal Cigar Smoker; and I don't infringe on anyone's right to breath clean air ... unless of-course I'm Kicking-Azz on the Golf Course.
I am an ex smoker and my wife is dying from stage 4 COPD , totally bedridden so Cigarettes have ruined my life
Sorry to hear that, Subby.... my prayers go out to you and your family. I felt the same way about drinking after watching my brother die of respiratory failure due to cirrhosis of the liver. He'd never smoked a single cigarette in his entire life, but did enjoy his nightly scotch & water. It's a shame how destructive our vices can be.

Got bronchitis in 2002 told I had beginning signs or emphysema so I stopped smoking with the help of a kit
It's the smoker's fault for smoking. No pity for those who inflict their own ailments. I don't feel bad for the fool who chops off their own arm.
Just like smokers don't feel bad for non-smokers who don't live forever. Your compassion is touching.
Smoked briefly in college. Lit up in front of mother...she pulled out her pack and i threw mine out the window. Now i only smoke during the Great American Smoke Out. I buy swisher sweets. ANy other time, i'm too practical for myself to smoke. But i don't believe in infringing on the rights of others to choose their own habits.
thanks all for your nice comments , I just want everyone who smokes to know how it can effect the family
that's fine. Keep it that way cause it is not your business. Besides. Being a doctor you're killing off enough of your patients on your own. Dead men tell no tales....and file no charges.
And if one doesn't get cancer, one can expect to live forever? I've never understood this logic. As I mentioned earlier... I work with an 83 yr old woman who smokes at least a pack a day. My mom quit smoking at 78 and lived to be 89. I honestly believe it has as much if not more to do with genes than lifestyle choices. Although admittedly, chronic conditions like COPD and emphysema do tend to be directly related to smoking and can be just as deadly as cancer.
Yep, my personal opinion is that anyone around my age (46) or younger that smokes is a complete idiot.
