I think MLK might be disappointed (not so much ashamed) of BOTH blacks and whites, in that there hasn't been more progress. But I think he might be MORE disappointed in blacks, yes.

 

King would be very pleased with black life today. MLK was a super-racist who hated all white people and would love how affirmative action has harmed whitey and given blacks benefits they don't deserve.

"More than just property accumulation" implies that you would actually be accumulating property. Since you are a socialist who does not believe in private property rights, I would assume "accumulating property" entails camping out on a particular piece of land. Since it's public land, you own all of it!

Some people are smarter than others, some are more talented than others, some are better looking than others, etc. This makes them more valuable than others, hence, they tend to be more successful. Socialism is an inherently flawed system. It punishes success and rewards mediocrity and failure. It's a system that has failed over and over again, and has lead to poverty and famine (for all). It's a repressive system that kills freedom and opportunity whenever they appear. It's a form of slavery. The only people who think it can succeed are illogical dreamers who are not grounded in reality. It's something that the poor like because it appeals to their jealousy and their desire to take from those who have actually done something in their lives to succeed.

That's ridiculous, though I'm just stating the obvious. King was a great man, let's not diminish what he accomplished.

However, I think he's been made into more a legend than a man. He was not a racist, but he did not push for the ideal of a color blind society.

 

Accomplished ??? What did he accomplish? I can't see where he did anything. Some guy working at a lawn chair factory is at least making something useful for the world. King just made speeches. He was one of the great losers in history.
