After NDAA was signed by our Dictator-in-Charge, I think so.

from the Constitution:"The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it".

Get ready to see Obama's civilian Army coming down our streets when they plan the next false-flag event.

the last frontier is the 2nd Amendment. Our Guns. the last 2 most important are #1 Freedom of Speech/Assembly and #2 Right to Bear Arms.

Sound off. those of you have links to show which Amendments have been destroyed or usurped, please post them. I suspect Amendments 3-16 are being shot down. but the The Bill of Rights is pretty much destroyed as we speak. So what's next?

Only when it suits Conservative needs, otherwise they want to amend it.

The Constitution is a completely valid document. We must uphold its ideals, but also realize that it is a living document, and that it can also be amended to fit with the times.

We're not the ones trying to alter the first two amendments to attack other ideologies. The constant attack on God in public view and the ability to own guns is constantly attack by you loony leftists. You liberals just overlook it thinking it some antiquated document holding your kind back from their grand plans as you think "government knows best".

The two amendments deal with matters that require a balance between liberty and order. In the United States, we crave maximum liberty, but we also want maximum order. With issues such as gun rights, you run the slippery slope between the two.

when Mitt Romney was asked whether he would have signed the National Defense Authorization Act, which provides for the indefinite detention of terrorism suspects without trial. (Obama signed it, with reservations, late last month.)

"Yes, I would have. And I do believe that it is appropriate to have in our nation the capacity to detain people who are threats to this country, who are members of al Qaeda.

Look, you have every right in this country to protest and to express your views on a wide range of issues but you don’t have a right to join a group that is killed Americans, and has declared war against America. That’s treason. In this country we have a right to take those people and put them in jail.

And I recognize, I recognize that in a setting where they are enemy combatants and on our own soil, that could possibly be abused. There are a lot of things I think this president does wrong, lots of them, but I don’t think he is going to abuse this power and I that if I were president I would not abuse this power. And I can also tell you that in my view you have to choose people who you believe have sufficient character not to abuse the power of the presidency and to make sure that we do not violate our constitutional principles.

But let me tell you, people who join al Qqaeda are not entitled to rights of due process under our normal legal code. They are entitled instead to be treated as enemy combatants."http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2012/01/17...or-indefinite-detention/?mod=google_news_blog

    .....
Who deterimes if "people join al Qwaeda"? a youtube video? we have our bill of rights for a reason and its sure in the hell not to trust that these clowns will not abuse their powers.

How can you support this man? How can you trust that he or obama will not abuse these power that he himslef admitted can be abused?

DO YOU REALLY TRUST HIM THAT MUCH? WHY?

Bigoted liberals ignore the fact that our government has always chafed at the fact, and it is a fact, that the Constitution protects us from the government. For liberals, turning all decisions and all power over to a Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, or Castro is the ideal. It's utopia. It's the workers paradise.

The assault on the Constitution by the government is constant but the intensity ebbs and flows. It's at a high tide now with a President publicly announcing he will ignore the Cosntitution.

I wish the liberals did want to amend the Constitution but they don't. They just want to ignore it and destroy it. Allowing the people to amend, or not, doesn't work for liberals. That's why they can, in their fantasy world, see the word abortion in the Constitution. I think they're seeing the word "dictator" in the Constitution now.

Just like you would not voluntarily remove your backbone, we will not alter the beloved document written by minds greater than ours.

I am no fan of Obama or the dems but I would like to point out that only Ron Paul of the current canidates voiced opposition to this. Not only that is was mostly ultra liberal dems that voted agianst it. The Current republicans betrayed us all by voting for this travisty. In no way are these so called conservatives defenders of our rights.

It was a rare, and sad, moment of bipartisanship.

So you don't think that we can do any better now, with more than 200 years of experience with it?

I'm definitely not saying that we have to, but I do think that the Constitution could be rewritten to remove some ambiguities. Also to deal more directly with some emerging technologies.

It's a great document, with a proud history . . . but that's no reason to chain ourselves to the past.

Not a friggin chance. It was written with a mechanism for change that has been used frequently. It's just that the liberals know Americans don't want what they have planned so amending the Constitution is not an option for them.

The US Constitution doesn't mean shxt when the president of the United States ignores it. It might as well be used as toilet paper. Screw this piece of shxt.

The framers of the Constitutions were not only wise men, but visionaries. they knew that if they DIDN'T write the Constitution in a manner that ultimately protected the people it would be quickly usurped. BUT the American constittution is fashioned like a sharp sword, STEEL even. So it's quite hard to take the people over when there's a document out here that protects our freedoms as HUMAN BEINGS, not just citizens.

It's not a racist document, eventhough it was written during racist times.

It's not a confusing docment because it clearly points out our freedoms. Something the Money changers hate.

    It's not a contradictory document.

It's a document that puts the power squarely in the hands of the people. which is what it should've done.

Which is why Obama and past crooked presidents have to lie, cheat, coherse, swindle and dupe the people into voting certain ways as to usrup the powers therein. Once the 1st and 2nd amendments are done away with, watch the blood spill....starting on 1600 Penn. Ave.

By all accounts Barry will catch a Red-Eye out of America when the poop hits the fan. trust me.
