So lefties... Is there not a smidgen of corruption? Or are you going to pretend like there's nothing to see here? Sometimes I wonder, if the shoe was on the other foot, and a republican was president, how hard and how loud democrats would be, and how vigilant they would seek out the truth.

    ++++++++++++++++++
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced on Thursday night that hundreds of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s previously “lost” backup tapes have been recovered, which could result in the recovery of a new trove of her emails.

IRS Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) on Thursday that it took investigators just two weeks to recover 424 backup tapes that were previously said to be unretrievable.

“To date, we have found 32,744 unique emails that were backed up from Lois Lerner’s email box. We are in the process of comparing these emails to what the IRS has already produced to Congress to determine if we did in fact recover any new emails,” Camus said, according to the Washington Times.

In one of the new emails, Lerner apparently wrote, “No one will ever believe that both your hard drive and mine crashed within a week of each other.”

Chaffetz was stunned when he asked Camus if anyone from the IRS had ever asked for the backup tapes and he replied, “No.”

“We send a subpoena, we send letters, we have hearings, we hear all kinds of excuses from the IRS,” Chaffetz said. “Every excuse you can have under the sun — you find them in two weeks, and then when you go talk to the IT people who are there in charge of them, they told you that they were never even asked for them. Is that correct?”

    “That is correct,” Camus replied.

None of this matters if the R's continue to be spineless. Then again i can think of a certain D's computers that were hacked by the CIA and an "apology" was all she wanted. Congress is becoming a sideshow they are losing power what seems like daily.

Maybe if she had thrown an LOL at the end of it, you may be able to argue the email in question was sent as a 'I can't believe that happened' type email.

But, why does nobody ask her what she meant by this? Nobody will ask the hard questions. I can't understand it.

Two reasons. One Congress is spineless.

Two. The R's want there guy to be able to use the IRS in such a manner as well. The precedent is now set.

That's a little disturbing. The Power of taxation is a very invasive and far-reaching Power in the Constitution. Sure it doesn't seem that bad with the IRS incident, but if they kept going down that line, it could get much much worse. Imagine people being accused of not paying taxes on property they never earned or owned.

Doesn't seem bad? They allowed all kinds of Liberal groups 501c status and attacked every TEA Party group that attempted to do the same.

They released private information to Liberal Media, Liberal politicians, and other Federal Agencies including: FBI, EPA, OSHA, who then visited these conservative entities.

The damage on the electoral and free speech process by the IRS before an election is enormous.

Now, let's also note that U.S. Democratic Senator Chuck Shumer and Congressman on the committee Elijah Cummings directly requested the IRS give attention to specific Conservative groups. It's a huge scandal bigger than Watergate. We know there are other Democrats involved, just not which ones because the IRS will not tell us. Hopefully these emails uncovers all the players who need to be in prison with Lois Lerner.

It's sad that you really don't care. If Watergate was going after Jimmy Carter instead of Richard Nixon, you would be against the investigation.

It really is sad you don't care.

I guess party lines run deep for you.

If everyone had your mentality, nobody would ever be charged with anything.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Unfortunately I think you're right.

Republicans won't hesitate to do the same if given the chance.

I care but I have heard Cons whining about everything under the sun for over 6 Years now, often for things they actually do themselves, and the Whining covers about every topic ones imagination can think of a few totally made up. The Cons have Whined about all their perceived illegalities over and over yet when they end up in a Court or before a Congressional Committee the Cons always end up losing. Let me ask this; if the Repubs have a mountain of evidence of wrong doing why is it they do not use it, could it be there is nothing more than more right-wing Hot Air, seems that is exactly what it is. As I said, when you have enough to go to court with do it, until keep up the Whine, most simply tune it out now.

They don't have a mountain of evidence. Because the IRS has openly defied, lied, misled, and otherwise blocked every attempt to investigate.

Not once, not twice, but many times the IRS has lied. Openly lied. 'The files were destroyed'. But they weren't. 'The files weren't destroyed but we can't recover them'. We did. Now you have more emails found that weren't turned over even after the IRS said that they turned them all over.

They have bits and pieces. Hard drives with SCRATCHES on them. Scratched hard drives. Does that not scream corruption to you? If not, you are blinded by party loyalty, and aren't worth the time to respond to.

Which part of all that makes you think there is no corruption?

But, it won't work. President Roosevelt got the civil service rules in place to protect the leftists that filled government jobs. Whether the Administration or Congress is conservative or not the IRS, the State Department, the EPA, and other agencies will be controlled by leftists and will be serving leftists.

When President Nixon wanted the IRS to go after his enemies they blew the whistle on him and were oh so self righteous. When The Clintons wanted the to go after their perceived enemies, such as Billy Dale of Travelgate and all of the woman who made complaints against the sexual predator, the IRS was good to go. Five of the six women complaining about Clinton were promptly audited as was Billy Dale. The Clintons also had the DOJ charge Billy Dale with crimes and he was acquitted at trial. And we all know how eager the IRS is to do the bidding of Barack Obama, the man who rules without Congress and without the law.

They'll be screaming corruption when future Republican presidents act on the precedents set by this president. Suddenly these actions will be criminal.

Seems to be a lot of corrupt people in this administration.

When they need someone to put out an outlandish statement they march out Susan Rice.

What does Obama and his cronies have on these people that they fear him so much?

Honest people have nothing to fear so getting them to do the Susan Rice or Lois Lerner roles would be impossible.

??? The Republicans are still in the fight, up against a corrupt administration, a corrupt half of Congress that has demonstrated they are willing to do anything to protect the administration and about 90% of the media willing to do anything to help them. Put the quote in the title of the thread into google and see the absence of the mainstream media.

Well, that would be the job of the Department of Justice in a Criminal court, but Obama wouldn't allow that. And many parties have had this in Civil Court for years and the Obama administration is fighting them every step of the way. When it takes YEARS just to extract information from the Federal government in the transparent Obama administration, these things take time.

Nope, but I have been listening to this stuff for Years now, so until something actually comes of any of it I will not be jumping on any bandwagons. So far I have seen little in the way of actual criminal acts.

She's right. No one will believe it, but they will still use it as a way to cover up the corruption. When engaged in corruption and cover ups, you do what ever it takes.

There is an abundance of evidence of criminal acts. But since it is the FBI who would investigate it and the department of Justice who would prosecute it, nothing will happen as long as they are under the control of the Obama administration.

    Remember, Liberals are
More concerned over a bridge that was shutdown for a couple of hours, or the actions of Sarah Palins family, then the IRS targeting political opposition or the govt lying about how Americans died. It's THAT screwed up.

BS, Congress (The Republican Congress) can do something about and guess what they are not, ever wonder why? Keep making excuses but if the evidence is there the Repubs would be all over it.

Holder the Puppet AG will make sure of that. If the IRS had targeted the NAACP or Sharpton's Action Network, you can bet the responsible parties would be cooling their heels in the Grey Bar Hotel right now.

That's also why they don't control Congress anymore and likely won't be in the White House come Jan 2017.
