    I am just out of words after reading this. Yeah, it’s a bit old, but still crazy.
    I though, there had been so much stuff about our educators and their curricula that nothing would surprise or shock me (as well as there should be some common sense, shouldn’t it?), but each time they manage to do something more appalling.
    This time – anal sex for 5th graders. Lovely, isn’t it? The kid should be prepared, even if s/he has never thought about any kind of sex before.

    This was stuck in the middle or the article with zero editorial comment so I can understand why you might miss it;
    The clear purpose of the article was to shock, not inform (this is RT reporting on the USA after all). Do you think they did a follow-up to establish what actually happened, given the lessons hadn't even started at the time the article was written?

    Even if it's Russian source, it doesn't mean they don't have journalists. ;) And this is not the first time I read about such classes, btw.
    As for the teacher's material that got into the presentation by mistake... Don't you think it was a lame excuse? I mean, why do they need to tell the teachers about that if it's not to be told to children later?

    It's not because it's Russian, it's specifically RT, which likes to publish stories that show the US in a bad light. That's a side point though. I'm no fan of the mass media in general.

    Of course there are sex education classes in schools. The question is about the specific curriculum and materials used in the classes at this school. They were apparently due to start within days of the article being published so the answer to what was actually presented in the classes should be available now. Maybe that fact that doesn't appear to have been reported is telling?

    I was under impression that the claimed error was that the presentation for these parents included material intended for older children that was never actually going to be used at the elementary school. I think it's perfectly possible that it's true and is worthy of at least as much attention as the claims of all the bad things that would be in the classes on the basis of that presentation alone. My issue was that the article included that quote yet was otherwise structured as if it never existed (this isn't an RT-specific issue, it's a general media failing).

    CDC: 70% of New HIV Infections in Gay Men -- Anal Sex Riskiest Behavior
    May 4, 2018 | Contrary to the oft-repeated claims of the liberal media that "anyone can get AIDS," data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that 70% of new HIV infections are among gay and bisexual men, and that the riskiest sexual behavior is anal sex, especially receptive anal sex (bottoming).

    And how is that better? Teaching such things to 13 year olds is hardly an improvement on teaching it to 11 year olds.

    None of this stuff needs to be taught AT ALL (kids raised in a cave with no access to the outside world and no education of any kind, will still figure out how to have sex and how babies are made), much less 'unconventional' sex. This thinking turns the whole business into a sport ... a mercenary, self-based, urge-worshipping life-wrecker.

    California's public schools have been teaching how to take it up the poop chute and like it too preadolescence snowflakes for over a decade now.

    Pull your 8 year old son or daughter out of the classroom and the liberals will label you a homophobe, xenophobe, Islamophobe, racist and even a deplorable.

    Two yeas ago many school districts in the hermit state of California started advance sodomy courses for 7th graders using XXXXX porn videos that would get a Stormy Daniels porn video a GP rating.
