There are millions of teachers in more than 100,000 public schools. I'm sure you can find just about anything somewhere. Remember, you hired them.

They made it clear they don't teach Critical Race Theory.

So they don't have any protection against unfair treatment?

They should make returning to teach in person conditional on everyone in the school over 12 being fully vaccinated. Soon, it will be all students and staff. You can't expect teachers to be complicit in spreading the virus between students and thereby home to their families.

What do you find most disagreeable, what he said or how he said it? Teachers are the front line troops in the education industry and they are the easy target when things go wrong or people get unhappy with what is being taught. Who we are all really angry about is the Federal administrators who mandate the what and how of the curriculum. There is a serious disconnect between what is being taught, other than the three R's, and what we think we send our kids to learn. Changing the social structure of America may sound all noble and stuff but it is really brain washing, selling an agenda that is so foreign to most of us in the real world that we have this kind of anger pointed at teachers because we don't know where else to direct it.

 

If you are getting burned out maybe you chose the wrong profession. One should try to enjoy what one does for a living, it shouldn't be a daily sacrifice.

 

If there was nothing to complain about, there would not be 67% increase is resignations in Florida.

It may not be best for the employer or the employee, but it is the reality. I have worked all my life, so I know this for fact. The work needs to be completed, and if that means OT, or people getting burned out, then that will happen. Managers have managers too, and work doesn't get done, their ass it out the door.

 

They are not interested until something changes. Finland is said to have the best system, and teaching is a well respected profession, but that is not the case in US. Here is US, teachers are accused of being traitors to the nation. They are called Marxists with evil intent to brainwash children with corrupt ideals. Who wants that? Being appreciated and respected is a basic human need, and that kind of nonsense takes it all away. The teachers who can take that kind of disrespect and stay on the job are heroes in my book. The people who attack teachers have no idea about the damage they are causing.

No one is going to stand up for you, that's your job. Draw the line in the sand, demand the pay, or the time. Keep some savings so that your back isn't to the wall and make sure they need you more than you need them.
