Public health experts have been advocating masks for the general public ever since Covid began to spike in the United States in mid-2020. Masks soon became the non-pharmaceutical intervention (NPI) of choice, despite there being a dearth of pre-Covid pandemic documents advocating them as meaningful tools to stop the spread of coronaviruses.

Even as critics have constantly poked holes in masks as a nearly useless and potentially harmful tool for fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, the public health industry has stuck to their guns and insisted in the face of mounting evidence of their ineffectiveness that the American people should continue to wear them (even toddlers).

A new study has blown the debate wide open: It shows that masks are not only worthless against Covid-19, wearing them might potentially be harmful for people’s physical and mental health and for society in general.

A peer-reviewed journal article in Cureuscalled the “Correlation Between Mask Compliance and COVID-19 Outcomes in Europe” has come to the stunning conclusion that the higher the mask compliance rates, the higher the Covid case rates. For those who aren’t well-versed in statistics, this is the exact opposite of what researchers should find if masks indeed “worked.”

“Masking was the single most common non-pharmaceutical intervention in the course of the coronavirus disease…

    T
his hard news article and it’s findings are exactly right. Mask wearing was the worst thing people could do. There’s a study that has been peer reviewed that throws cold water all over the mask mandate control freak fascists.

And twit on this site will ignore the findings and the study and head straight to screaming bloody murder and screaming don't you cared about your grandparents or some other emotion ladened crap design to turn of brains and engage feelings and then fume off pretending as though they've actually contradicted hard evidence.

I can say, living in a red State, the only time we wore masks is when rates were higher

that doesn't mean rates were higher because we wore masks, the rates went up, then came the mask wearing

I chose not to wear them although there were studies saying I should. Not that I didn’t believe them it’s just that I thought if I was going to die I was going to do it like a man rather than a coward hiding from my friends and family. (Remember the don’t do thanksgiving, and Christmas speeches from our commander of cowards)

but wearing a mask protected others, not so much you

and if it made people feel safer to wear a mask, even if it did nothing, that was still something

same reasons as denser population contributing. james' photo of fauci at the ball game on the midst of empty seats is equally uninstructive.

the "hard news site" is listed as "questionable"

    Trending Politics - Media Bias/Fact Check (mediabiasfactcheck.com)

trending politics (motto: "trump news updated 24/7") did include a link to the actual article, which showed mixed results.

Mmm hmm, says the guy from the side of the aisle that wanted, and probably still wants, to ban gay marriage, ban abortion, and gets hung up on gender identities even though your birth gender rarely actually matters. All because of feelings.

You fool nobody by pretending emotion doesn't play a large role and implying that the R side of things only acts objectively and impartially.

Banning abortion isn’t over feelings. Some of actually believe it’s murder. As for gay marriage not sure anyone cares to ban that again. But gays having adoption rights… I’m okay with that going out the window. And the normalization of trans… yup, throw that to the curb

Ever notice how these articles never actually say the things that the OPs claim they do, and that they often say exactly the opposite? Something funny happens when you read past the headline:

"While no cause-effect conclusions could be inferred from this observational analysis . . . "

Nobody really cares much at all about what an unfair and unbalanced so called arbitrator MBFC thinks about anything. They are used as an enforcement and content control tool by some at some places who choose to let it do their thinking for them. I listed the seed as opinion because of the possibility that the author might have included so much as a single sentence of it that was his own opinion in addition to the news.

I'm sorry you don't like your sources being criticized, but, MBFC aside, they did misrepresent the findings of the research.

Being criticized by MBFC is a badge of honor to be worn with pride by conservative and Christian sites and their readers so criticized by them.

I'm sorry for their lack of self-reflection and intellectual honesty . . . as exhibited in the OP. I've already quoted the actual study DIRECTLY contradicting the conclusion that your OP tries to draw from it. Pick better sources. Yours are lying to you. Or stick with the same lying sources if you want, but at least do some of your own homework if you are going to do so. Blindly parroting what they tell you to believe isn't a good tactic.

I didn't do the mask wearing BS, didn't socially distance, didn't stop seeing friends/family, didn't get jabbed, didn't follow any of that BS, and even recently had lengthy and "up close" indoor exposure to people who were "covid positive", and I have yet to get covid (or any other disease).

There is no such thing as "gay marriage".

There is no right to murder. Murder is not healthcare.

I can identify as a sea turtle all I want, but that doesn't change the biological truth that I am a human. I can identify as a woman all I want, but that doesn't change the biological truth that I am a man.

I apologize. "Same-sex marriage". Is that better?

Absolutely right. But that has nothing to do with abortion.

However, your biological truth only matters in a tiny handful of situations which was my point. Thank you for illustrating exactly what I said which is that some right-wingers get emotionally hung up on gender identity even though your birth gender rarely ever matters. Sports and medical care are really the only places that it does.
