It's looks like Trump's admin is taking a logical approach to answering the age old question of 'am I a boy or a girl?' And look at this, his folks are using SETTLED SCIENCE to make these determinations - now who in their right mind is going to question settled science?

Hey leftists, you wanted government to make all the decisions in your lives, now consider it done.

When it comes to Trangender people I try to respect their body beliefs the same way I respect peoples religious beliefs. I find what the Trump admin is doing unnecessary divisive and mean spirited.

A manufactured waste of time wedge issue, in other words. Though I would like to see an instance where how the Obama admin determined this had a detrimental impact on the organization. That may change my mind somewhat.

Sex and gender occur on a spectrum.

Sex and gender are binary attributes and sex == gender in any case.

When you say it's mean, are you saying we should cast aside issues that science settled long ago and base our policies on feelings?

“The sex listed on a person’s birth certificate, as originally issued, shall constitute definitive proof of a person’s sex unless rebutted by reliable genetic evidence.”

I don't see the problem here. A certified medical professional says whether you're male or female, and you can appeal their decision if you have evidence.

Thats about as good as objective law can get.

Science says some are neither male nor female, or both, among many other spectrum placements.

This transgender issue makes things so confusing. If a woman becomes a man and as a man claims that he was sexually assaulted 40 years ago while he was still a she, does this person qualify for the "believe women" privilege as a former woman, or should he instead "shut up and step up" as per the dems' requirement for men...or both? :omfg:

I hope a lib will chip in and clarify, unless his/her head explodes... my definitely would if i had all this contradictory nonsense in my head lol

I don't see anything wrong with this, its just clarification.

After all, how will you know what prison to put people if they can claim to be whatever they want?

What happens when the GlobalistMarxistHumanistProgressiveSJW set manage to make individual quirks, fetishes, personality disorders, etc, qualify one for Protected Group™ status?

just spitballing here, but wouldn't that sort of diminish the meaning of "legitimate" Protected Groups™?

A spectrum?? So you are saying that there are 70, or 60, or 81% men or women ? So can a 69% woman get pregnant? Can a 19% man father a child?

If a 50% man and a 50% woman have sex which one will get pregnant? The man, the woman, or both?

Great!!! Just great!! Now white males have no chance being a legally protected class. We were only a dress and a restroom away! Thanks Trump!

I do like the example of giving the gov power over our decisions. The real challenge is opposing government power even when we agree with what they are doing.

So should we just ignore interested people? What about people with a single chromosome? Triple chromosomes? XXYY?

Some of the above are infertile - others are not. But they are a minority so we should just ignore them and move forward with the blatant bigot agenda...

It’s not clarification - it’s sheer bigotry that ignores science.

All he's doing is going back to the way it was before the Obama administration, who got slapped down in the courts (again) over this issue, rewrote science.

Yeah, all those other chromosomes that determine biology create a huge range of possibilities.

Don't worry, we'll take care of the .05% of the population that affects.

Almost 2% actually — 6.5 million American citizens — but I know how y’all love to marginalize groups by reducing their numbers. How do we “take care of them” after this edict from our emperor?
