There has been serious discussion about splitting CA up. That’s making more sense daily.

It'll start with civil disobedience between State officers and Federal officers. Changes will be made by California, Slow downs, paperwork changes, open/closing hours changing, new processes and protocol, the run around on steroids! This has started !

Immigration might be the current issue initiating political conflict, but the catalyst that causes the jump to rebellion wi be an overt act of insurrection by California directly oposing bright shining line Federal Law. It will start with Armed State police agents physically denying federal agents from enforcing federal law, from serving legal warrants, from deporting those ordered deported by a federal judge by denying access to Court Buildings. County Jail Houses, University Campuses and State run Construction Projects, Ports blocking access to nagivatable ships The State and the emotional Sanctuary Cities will move through legislative action to pass bills making all state proporty off limits to on duty Federal Agents, Sanctuary Cities are hesitantly starting this now!

Concomitantly Calli will go from being a burden and a general nucince to an organized hit on something solely within the preview of The United States Congress. Minting citizens.

It might, and most likely, will involve State government Officials knowingly and actively harboring tens of thousands of illgal allians from Federal Reach with the intent of offering and conveyeying California citizenship onto millions at one time. They'll fill the 49ers Levi Stadium with the tens thousansds on hand, lights glowing, flags of every culture mounted high and little ones waiving hand helds. Festive with a packed house! The tens of thousands on the field are administered the oath and swan in as California Citizens, as 70,000 watch. On the televised airwaves, millions and millians will watch around the country and they will repeat the oath in their native language, The Governor will pronounce them all California Citizens for life! The State assembly and Governor will have passed and signed the necessary bills to confer full rights, and California citizenship to all illegals across the state and perhas the entires United States. This is being planned and the legal issues are being studied now!

There will be a security ring around the BIG Show. The first sill be leo.

The City Police, County Sheriff's and State Troopers will ring the amphitheater 4 deep with every armed uniformed police officer with in 100's of miles, showing up in force, with each, bringing his squad car, CHIP motorcycle, Swat MRAP, bicycles, and seized BMW's Bentley's, Hummers, DRONES, Helocopters and the Oscar Myers Weiner mobile.

The second ring will be composed of every Firefighter House with 200 miles.

The Fireman will form an exterior defensive ring around the mass citizenship Every Engine, pumper, Ladder Truck and Ambulance available with water tanks full and hoses deployed. 100's of Firetrucks and thousands of Fireman will surround the Levi Stadium.

This of course is open insurrection that must be put down. I think California will play these large unapproachable venues where any clash would present losing optics. I think the Federal Government, Homeland Security, the DOJ a d FBI needs to be ready.

This could get the masses enthusiastically behind the 'Californian Citizens for all' movement. It's a party and California's love a party!

California can also, having 39.6 million people, seriously screw up ID's change DL numbers, omit soctal security numbers from their entire system, alter legal paperwork, legally change names, print error filled birth records, foodstamp entries that have multiple errors, the Universities could offer life experience degrees to every immigrant.

In short, if California lights it's hair on fire it an really f' up our system. Monkey wrenching is a national past time.

    Cheers

Agreed and swiftly at nigh with the suspects removed from the state. This has to be stopped before it has a chance to garner large public support and organized reactions. I could see flash mobs of kids, real kids, showing up to protect the state actors involved.

Yep, California would give them the oath and confer upon them citizenship for life.

A voters registration card and a birth certificate gets you a Real ld Drivers License here in Vermont. A mini passport good to go into Canada.

Don't have a birth certificate? Or Voters registration? Go to the county clerk and raise your right hand and take the oath, swearing your're a citizen. Some want a lease or utility bill, easy. Boom, you just got a voters registration card, signed, stamped and embossed.

With your voter registration card and a utility bill you can get a standard DL or State photo ID. Now you can open a bank account. Now you can get a ss card. Now you can fully fill out an I-9 form to legally work.

With those you can now get your birth certificate. Boom, now you can get a passport.

    Cheers

    Lol.

I was on a roll and thinking about how I would set the order of battle if I were a Californian that wanted to control immigration within the state. How could it be done with out real kenetic conflict or bloodshed. Make the events big entertaining productions and draw 100,000's of happy partying 'fans' to escort the soon to be California Citizens into the stadium.

Live TV, cable booths for the world's media would ring upper stadium in the vip boxes. I'd invite VIP's from every Central and South American country the 'new California Citizens' emigrated from, Norway too! Maybe we'd invite Mogens Lykketoft, President of United Nations General Assembly.

Congress would bend till they broke, but I'd bet they'd pass a law granting California the ability to define it's own citizenship requirments, that their citizens couldn't be deported and ceed control for all other immigration issues within California.

My point, we can lose California if we don't act swiftly and enforce the rule of law. If open immigration becomes an overwhelmingly popular movement we could fail. Let's not let it get out of hand.

No ID to vote in California.

    https://ballotpedia.org/Voter_identification_laws_by_state

"According to the Office of the California Secretary of State, "in most cases, California voters are not required to show identification at their polling place."

Pretty sad. Think about it. If an illegal alien from anywhere in the world was smart enough, it wouldn't take much to get docs in order so that they could almost eliminate the chance of being caught. And as a bonus, they can vote for their own self interests.

I've never been asked for an ID as a requirement to vote in the 47 years I've lived in CA.

Just watched the mayor of Oakland talk about it. She claimed a third of her citizens are immigrants. California needs to get a grip on this before Congress does it for them.

As long as it was made clear that that only applied within California's borders and confred no rights (byond basic civil rights) or access to Fed run programs, that might actually be viable. It would certainly make deportation less a hardship or ethics battle if we could simply ship undocumented immigrants to California. Of course California isn't suggesting that despite being the logical conclusion of their border policy (or lack thereof).

Wow, so you ignore all the laws you don't agree with?.
That's a slippery slope downhill to chaos.

The state prosecutors will be prosecuted by the Federal government for prosecuting the individual citizens choosing to comply with Federal laws.

And then Repubs will never be able to use states' rights as an argument again. This is why California hasn't been slaped yet and also why sessions' huffing and puffing haven't blown down the weed dispensaries. yet. The Repubs are backed into a corner by the fact that their 2 favorite talking points are on opposing sides of the issue. Either they fail to backup their enforcement promises or they throw out states' rights. I'd hate to be the Repub political strategist not getting any sleep right now.

I agree with an article I read somewhere, can't remember, that since California is basically ignoring Federal laws, then their elected officials should be banned from participating in Congress.
You want to act like you are above the law, then you cannot help write or pass any laws. Removes a bunch of liberal Dems from Congress.

Agreed. They have no problem doing such things when it's something they like, but consider themselves above the law when they disagree.

Depends upon my mood. I follow the lead of the last few men who were POTUS, and the lead of congress as they disobey the War Powers Act and quite a few other laws.

You mean like Congress "got a grip on" drug use? ROFLMAO All Congress can "get a grip on" is bribery and special interests.
