liberals and conservatives want very different things. How do you reconcile the numbers of both races voting both ways?

Actually, most whites just don't think about race at all. Progressive whites do of course, but sane folk - nope, it rarely enters our heads. Couldn't care less.

The Democrats packaged, marketed and sold Barack Obama as a black man. Thats not society's fault, thats pure racial exploitation by a specific group to achieve a goal. Democrats won, blacks got pushed back 40 years.

The worst part -- a Harvard educated black man in the 21st century allowing white men to use him like that. Tsk tsk

It's a problem, period. It's not white-specific. "Hindu privilege" in India, for example, is responsible for an awful lot of the cultural ills and ethnic violence they've got.

No, it's not. We might not be able to come up with something perfect, but we can certainly come up with a system that focuses on a person's abilities, and rewards gumption, versus blindly rewarding people of a certain religion or skin color.

Sure I would. Discrimination is discrimination. I don't favor it when it benefits me; why would I favor it when it harms me?

For instance, I agree that affirmative action is discrimination (Where we disagree is that I recognize it as a sometimes-necessary evil, to make up for the effects of past discrimination). But even though I support affirmative action in some situations, I have long advocated that it should be limited in both scope and time, precisely because once the playing field is leveled, affirmative action becomes discrimination against the majority (whites, in this case).

Several times over the years I have suggested that various affirmative-action programs -- mostly school-desegregation busing programs -- had outlived their usefulness and should be canceled.

That doesn't make any sense. What "political benefit" do I derive from harming whites? I'm white, and not a politician. My kids are white. My wife is white.

I've always admitted that I benefited from all sorts of things I couldn't claim credit for. Being raised in an upper-middle-class household with two college-educated parents, for example. That was a biggie. Getting a great education in the public schools was another.

I'm not sure how you think I benefited MORE from being white than anyone else has. I'm also not sure why you think I have somehow used up that racial privilege, and can now abandon it at no cost. I'm still white, still working. Moreover, my kids are white and about to graduate and go to college. I still have white skin in the game.

I advocate against racial privilege because it is WRONG, not because it's useless to me.

    Goodie for you. Me, too.

Oddly, most of the countries that make up "Western Civilization" don't seem to think that skin color is an important factor in that civilization. So I think you're on your own little white-supremacist island there.

Yes, advocating for a color-blind meritocracy and the elimination of unearned privilege will harm people who can't hack it. Too bad.

Again, you are begging the question. People who aren't white supremacists don't accept your definition of "your own group". And arguing for a color-blind meritocracy only harms whites if you think whites are unable to compete on a level playing field. Which says a lot about your faith in "your own group".

People are people, Brewskier. Mexico doesn't define Hispanics any more than toothless, cousin-marrying meth-eaters in rural West Virginia define whites. People of Mexican descent born and raised in the United States are more American than Mexican, and more in tune with American values than, say, a white Austrian. Race is the least-useful proxy there is for "American".

Don't quote the lead-in out of context with the follow-up.

That's a deflection and distortion of what I said. And non-responsive to boot.

In the same way that far left communists on the fringes of the Democrat Party want the Democrat Party to be the Communist Party of America. But nobody seriously thinks they will get their way. But the Communists bring average ordinary Democrats further to the left. Likewise people like Brewskier bring average ordinary Republicans further to the right. We all serve a purpose in this Democratic process and you shouldn't disparage anyone's role due to your personal biases or animosity towards them.

Bottom line is that the policies that the GOP pushes...are bad for working people.

The policies that the Dems push are good for the middle class and poor.

    It's that simple.

The GOP understands this and uses abortion, and guns, and yes...even racism ...to garner votes from people who would otherwise never vote for them.

That strategy doesn't work so well for black folks.

OK, that's not the country we live in now. We live in a damaged post world-socialism Constitutional Republic, damaged but intact. Do you think playing the same rotten game that damaged it is going to change anything? Fair enough, I don't.

I prefer to see it as a populist movement, not a white one, and we only need to nudge their larger bloc bases away from identity politics slightly to expand on that... or we can fuel their vastly superior propaganda and media machines by jumping on the identity bandwagon and breathing new life into their rotten politics... that are -losing- as a matter of fact. Hollering "racissss!" is a losing tactic that is becoming more of a loser hourly. Why turn it into a winner for them with white identity politics? Did you learn anything from Charlottesville, where they successfully turned a bunch of history buffs and a handful of white supremacists into a faux KKK rally? Increased white nationalism would turn off white women in droves, drive ignorant youth further left, and the share of adult white male antileft voters is already increasing with every election. They are their own worst enemy, are digging their own graves. Why not let them do that in peace?

Very few women identify as feminists compared to the 90s, even fewer want their daughters identifying as feminists. There are more and more black voices leaving the Democrat Plantation every day. I'd rather help those voices than hinder them.

you're so right. Black folks are just too woke to fall for the games that the Republican Party like to play. They know better than to fall for the anti Hispanic xenophobia that Republicans like to push. They know to vote for people who will let in millions and millions of people who have higher IQs than them a better work ethic and compete for the same jobs that they are competing for because that's just better for their interests.

Those sneaky Republicans aren't going to convince them otherwise because black people are just too wise, that's right theyret just too experienced to fall into that trap. You're so right man. Oh wow, you really nailed it.

So maybe you should demand the party actually make an effort to change their image. That's how campaigning works. You can't blame your political enemies for your party being shitty at PR.

And helping the poor will help black people because black people are disproportionately poor. All programs designed to help the poor will naturally correct the generational damage done by jim crow while also benefiting all poor people of all races.

You're a perfect example of what blacks don't like about Republicans and the GOP.

    Thanks for the illustration

No in my experience it's the lack of critical thinking skills that keeps them in the Democrat Party. That's a problem that no amount of pandering, by the GOPs part, will cure.

Makes more sense to write them off as a demographic and go for the white vote.

The OP is trying to put lipstick on a pig. White Nationalism is just a pathetic attempt to rebrand the KKK and Nazi into something more palatable. It isn’t fooling anyone.

The term "white nationalist" is designed to stir up envy and hatred of those on the left. There is no such thing yet lefties are so consumed with hatred and envy they have to invent terms like this....sad.

Blacks could be easily swayed to the Republican side if Republicans weren't so supportive of the police state.

Anytime a black guy is shot under questionable circumstances, Republicans will rush to the cop's defense no matter how dubious his actions were.

Republicans are big supporters of the war on drugs, which needlessly destroys millions of black families and allows the rampant violation of civil liberties of urban communities.

Republicans also want to cut spending on entitlement programs that help poor blacks and poor people generally, yet they have no problem spending outrageous, indefensible sums of money on imperialism and wars of aggression. As you noted in your own post, Ben Shapiro, the so-called conservative, is a butt-boy for Israel, as are most Republicans. They would rather send billions of tax dollars overseas to devious foreigners than see that money used to help an old black guy in Atlanta stay fed and housed.

Because of this, Republicans are generally perceived as being without any compassion or understanding, a perception that is often times justified. Really, they have no one but themselves to blame. Hell, Republicans cannot even convince most white people to vote for them.

Giving people the liberty to make their own decisions is not the same as sanctioning or endorsing the choices they make.

I fully support your right to say whatever you want even if I don't agree with everything you say.

The same goes for abortions, drugs, transgenderism, and homosexuality.

I can and do support an individual's right to become "transgender" if that's what they want, but I also have no problem telling them that becoming a "transgender" is just a delusion that will solve nothing. That's the beauty of liberty. We both get to do and think what we want, so long as we extend the same respect to other people.

This kind of libertarian tolerance is actually the original, traditional idea of America, the one articulated by the founders. If Republicans would actually follow that example, instead of merely claiming to follow it, they would have a much easier time convincing minorities and women and homosexuals to vote for them.
