I thought you didn't believe in conspiracy theories. Oh, it's Clinton's fault. Big surprise from a partisan hack like you.

Subtract the number of US soldiers killed needlessly on Obama's watch from those killed on Cheney/ Bush's. The numbers don't lie champ. I do agree that the Obama/Clinton crew really blew it by getting involved with Libya and Syria though, I'll give you that. Clinton's and Bush's are best buddies and have been for a long time. I am sure if Obama had it to do all over again, he would like to take back hiring HC as Secretary of State. She wholeheartedly supported the Cheney/Bush idiotic foreign policy which is why she got beat in the primaries. Then as Secretary of State she continued the idiotic Cheney/Bush/Netanyahu policy of destabilizing the Middle East region while letting their war profiteering cronies to stuff their coffers with blood money. One of the reason's I supported Trump early in the primaries was that he railed against these neoCON policies. He still has not started any wars for profit and I hope he continues to exercise good judgement in that area.

Absolutely. Trump is an idiot. And I hate feeling like I have to support him at this point.

You have actual proof of this from an unbiased source?

What conspiracy? I should have said "plot" The 9-11 attacks were planned and prepared for over the course of years. No one administration was responsible for it.

Well I agreed with Trump on that point and several other points, even though I think he's a horse's ass and he was mixed up with some shady characters. We disagree regarding Cheney/Bush and the idiotic turd hunts they caused in the Middle East. In my opinion they are war profiteering scumbags but I don't expect them to ever be held accountable and I don't expect you to change your opinions of them. That's what makes America Great. The absolute right to voice our opinions of our public servants.

Yet! Give him time. What happens if Kim walks away from the table without agreeing to a thing? Kim already has what he wants, a bilateral summit with the American President and all the prestige that goes with it.

Kim already decided he was going home right after his chat with Trump. Trump then decided he would go home, too. That is not a good sign.

Some Trump fans who don't want to talk about Trump or the issues contained in this thread. It is quite comical. :)

I always try to remain optimistic. I am hoping that Trump and Rodman see eye to eye with that crazy little guy and form a lasting trade relationship with North Korea. Stranger things have happened, like Trump winning the GOP primaries by a bunch then overcoming a 20 point deficit to beat Clinton.

Are you talking about me? I loathe President Trump and you well know it. But I've given my reasons several times for defending him.

Rodman is not involved. I thought i heard a rumor that Democrats want Americans to think Rodman is playing a role. Trump nixed that idea before he traveled to Singapore.

At any rate, I hope that these two whacky guys get together and form a lasting alliance between our two nations. North Korea is ripe for development and it would be great for North Korean people to get their little tyrant to stop wasting a huge amount of their very limited resources on nuclear weapons and start developing their country into a first rate economic power like South Korea. I knew that Kim really digs Rodman and if he could help in any way, that would also be great. Perhaps, if we open diplomatic channels with North Korea, Rodman could be appointed ambassador. Compared to some of the choices Trump has made so far, Rodman would be a pretty sensible pick.

I know Rodman went to north Korea for fun and women, but did not think he has the respect and devotion by Democrats. Seems they would resent Rodman for stealing Obama's thunder. Trump made it clear Rodman plays no role.

Kim likes him and I don't give a damn what the Democrats or Republicans think of him. Nor do I give a crap about Obama's thunder, whatever that may be. I figured that since Trump had made a great decision based on a meeting with Kim Kardashian, maybe Rodman, who is of the same ilk as Kim K, could help out.

In line with his treatment toward Canada and the other members of the G-7, at the summit in Singapore Trump threw another U.S. ally under the bus. This time it was South Korea. Trump surprised the South Korean leadership when he announced plans to suspend military exercises on the Korean Peninsula.

The North Korean military has labeled the war games as provocative. “You know, I wanted to stop the war games, I thought they were very provocative,” Trump told George Stephanopoulos.

SecDef James Mattis claims he was not taken by surprise by Trump's decision. However, the New York Times reports, "President Trump’s pledge on Tuesday to cancel military exercises on the Korean Peninsula surprised not only allies in South Korea but also the Pentagon.

"Hours after Mr. Trump’s announcement in Singapore, American troops in Seoul said they are still moving ahead with a military exercise this fall — Ulchi Freedom Guardian — until they receive guidance otherwise from the chain of command.

"Lt. Col. Jennifer Lovett, a United States military spokeswoman in South Korea, said in an email that the American command there “has received no updated guidance on execution or cessation of training exercises — to include this fall’s schedule Ulchi Freedom Guardian.'"

Putin and President Xi of China are enormously pleased that Trump canceled these military exercises in the their neck of the woods.

Obviously, Kim is enormously pleased as well because he gave up nothing for this largesse.

Trump's base is also pleased with Trump's performance at Singapore.

It is always good to be optimistic as long as there is some reality to your optimism, and it doesn't become fantasy while wishin' and hopin'.

That somehow Trump's summit with Kim would result in Kim disarming North Korea falls into the realm of fantasy. Life is not that simple, and Trump knows it. However, to him, everything is rhetoric. He fooled his base with meaningless rhetoric and they elected him President. He continues with the rhetoric. To Trump, actual accomplishments are far less important. It is all about perception, not reality.

That got him the Presidency, and Republicans in Congress continue to act like sheep, accepting all the B.S. he throws at them. Why stop now?

Trump tweeted yesterday, "There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea." In a very real sense, Trump is right, but that has nothing to do with anything he did.

Kim has not given one single sign that he is suicidal. Actually, the very opposite is true. His whole being, his entire purpose in life is the perpetuation of the Kim regime. Everything else is secondary, including the North Korean people and the North Korean economy.

Kim also has not given one single indication that he is stupid. Again, actually the opposite is true. He is intelligent, ambitious, ruthless, highly trained, and, as we can see from the recent summit, an able negotiator. He ate Trump's lunch, three major concessions at no cost to him. So, Kim knows that a nuclear attack on the U.S. would be the end of everything he holds dear, the Kim regime and his country becomes a nuclear wasteland.

Now we come to Trump. How will he react when he finally realizes he got taken? He probably knows that now, but he is busy churning out false propaganda for his gullible base. He can do that for only so long. As the weeks and months go by with no resolution of the Korean Problem, the more intelligent members of his base will begin to ask questions.

What will Trump do? For those who cross him, like Justin Trudeau of Canada and America's free press, Trump's anger and vindictiveness is well known. In a fit of anger will he order a preemptive surgical strike on a North Korean target, a nuclear facility as an example?

In that event, what will Kim do?

We do know this. Despite all the talk, nearly everyone has forgotten one important factor in all this. For over 60 years North Korean artillery batteries and missile brigades have been locked onto one target, Seoul and its port where 25 million people live. This should be factored into the equation.

In foreign affairs, Trump has proven himself to be impulsive, naive, incompetent and he is averse to taking advice from others with decades of experience, preferring to rely only on his seventeen months experience. He is the boss, and he does not let anyone forget it. His enormous immaturity was quite evident in the Singapore summit where he lost his shirt to the passive Kim. Trump did all the talking, and Kim walked away with all the benefits.

He is still acting like a lovestruck teenager, overwhelmed by Kim's charms. Look at his tweets. Look at his statements regarding the summit.

All this makes for a very dangerous combination, and, so far, Trump's two generals, Kelly and Mattis, have been silent as sheep. Neither has said a word about this summit in three months. Trump fired another general, H.R. McMasters, his NSA who had the temerity to speak his mind.

Trump hates that in an advisor.
