What's the point?

Don's attorney seems to believe an obstruction of justice charge can't be brought against a sitting prez. His AG apparently disagrees.

As I said in another thread this seems to be consistent with the new line of defense coming from the WH. No longer that there were no contacts and the Russia investigation is all a hoax, but rather anything that was done is either not against the law or permissible because the prez is above the law.

Is it so important that we have an unfit, pathological liar as prez that you folks who defend Don for anything and everything are willing to go so far as to say obstruction of justice, even if it is proven, is a charge Don is immune from? If so, then this experiment in democracy isn't doomed to failure, it has already failed.

 

So basically the investigation was never about Russian collusion. Got it.

 

Again, it doesn't matter if the investigation began as an examination of the campaign's coordination with Russians and ends up resulting in a charge of obstruction..........does it? Look how far afield the Starr investigation went from its original mandate.

“I have a lot of experience with John Dowd,” Bharara said in an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep, referring to Trump’s lawyer. “He represented some high profile people in cases before my office.
