Obamacare was a gift to big insurance, and was originally created as an alternative to hillarycare, and came from a right of center think tank. No wonder Romney used a form of it, for after all, it came from his team, which were not democrats.

The dems and obama made sure that single payer, medicare, was not included as an option, and why is that? lol Because it would not have been a huge gift to big insurance and wall street. And you gotta pay back campaign financing with these gifts to the big boys. So, single payer was rejected, even when it has been the dream of the DP since Truman. But this was not THAT democratic party, was it? No indeed. THAT democratic party, the party of the common man left the building in the 90s, thanks to Bill and other corporate/banking democrats.

We should have single payer, getting the profits out of healthcare insurance. But with the old democratic party being dead, and the GOP hating such an idea, I doubt we will see it. The dems had their chance with including single payer as an option, and what did they do? Well they gave us the healthcare of a corporate state. It is so nice for business when the gov't forces you to buy what they sell. And quite the payback for the dems with their campaign donors, even if they had to adopt healthcare from a right wing think tank. Of course, they did allow big insurance to tweak it, to enrich themselves even more, for after all, most legislation that benefits special interests are written by those same special interests. Which is why so many americans walk about, with their hands grabbing their ankles, so they are in the right position for the special interests to use them...hump, hump, hump.

Your turn is coming for others to subsidize yours.

Folks, if we get over the hateful rhetoric and explain SS payments, it turns out if you live long enough, you will get a huge sum of cash paid to you over time. SS pays more than you imagine.

Once in a while i calculate my ROI for the cash I spent on SS and it is shocking large.

Heck, this nation pays people who never paid into SS. SS has people who are mentally challenged being paid.

neither party can do this alone, if dems do it repubs will attack it and visa vera
both parties need to work together to come up with a plan... that way they work to fix things needing fixing instead of blaming the other side after it passes

the insurance companies are the issue, and both parties will blame the other for their actions unless they work together

Going bankrupt paying premiums? That's absurd!

I saw hundreds of examples of people going bankrupt due to healthcare costs before obamacare. Can you show a reference to one instance where that is the case because of obamacare?

Yes! But the statement is misleading because they are not as many as before Obamacare.

I sympathize with the message on your sig (i.e. "Affordable Medicare for all"). But you undermine the message if your tactic to forward that premise includes fallacies. You should be careful with that. Those of us who believe in Medicare for all don't need them. We have the facts.

I must remind you that Obama tried to do it the way you describe. He sought consensus. Over 95% of Obamacare came from Republicans. In the end, we obtained a plan that, even though better than what we had, still didn't solve the healthcare problem. And not a single Republican voted for it.

So, even though i appreciate the sentiment, I can't agree anymore with the bi-partisan approach anymore. If we are ever going to have anything that works, Democrats will need to do it on their own.

Under Obamacare, there was no deductable for life saving treatments of disease, such as cancer treatment, and there was no deductable for preventive care. Only non-life saving treatments were subject to a deductable.

Under Trumpcare, all treatments, regardless of their nature are subject to deductables.

Untouched, the Affordable Care Act will live on for a long time.

The only way Trump can actually kill it is by illegal EOs.
