“You are all unbelievers, I’ll kill you” – Two Islamist knife attacks in France

People will just strongly believe in something else, likely political or economic in nature. We are the missing link.

 

Religion teaches that you should believe whatever the stone-age writers wrote in those books based on pure faith, and this can be used by political and religious leaders to get people to do and believe horrible things. At least politics and economics prioritizes reason over faith.

 

In fact the Golden Rule of Christianity is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". You can compare that to other political philosophies, like Marxism, or other religions, like Islam. Christian based countries have done better than all other nations in the world combined.

 

Christianity has many good teachings that has inspired many to do good. The problem is that it teaches people that dogmatic belief in ancient vague teachings is good, and honestly the only difference between you and a radical Muslim is the book you are dogmatic about and how literally you interpret it.

 

Actually that is not correct.
There is no interpretation necessary in Islam.
When you read the teachings and deeds of Muhammed,
it very plainly tells you to rob and kill.

 

If you interpret it literally yes. That is the problem with religion. It teaches that faith in dogma is a virtue, and if that dogma is backwards or even dangerous, then that is a problem. The only difference between a nice Christian and a radical Muslim is the book, and how they read it. It scares me that reasonable people can be convinced to potentially believe horrible things, and no amount of reasoning can persuade them to see reason.

 

Give me an example in Islamic text, in the teachings of Muhammed.

 

That's the problem of ideologies. In the end of the 19th century, there were many anarchist attacks. It's one anarchist attacks that caused the start of WW1, even if I think that in 1910, WW1 became the fate of Europe, like WW2 became the fate of Europe in 1916. Communism was a huge source of death during the 20th century, even with some communist terrorist attacks.

Religion are a specific kind of ideology. Anarchism and communism promise to their members that if they sacrifice themselves, a kind of paradise on earth would appear, the anarchic/communist society, muslim terrorists think they will go to heaven if they commit terrorist attacks because as it is wroten in the quran :
"Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment."

So even if all religions disappeared, there would still be many ideologies who would encourage people to kill each other.

I don't believe in god, but I prefer what ML King believed in rather what Lenin believed in.

Just to know, he doesn't refer to WW2 resistance, but to communist militia and globally spanish civil war.

 

Muhammed says kill in defensive war after the holy months have passed. He also says that at the first sign the enemy wants to talk, Muslims are obliged to meet for a pow wow.

And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know.

‘Fight in God’s cause against those who wage war against you; but do not commit aggression, for, verily, God does not love aggressors’ (2:190); and, ‘if they do not let you be, and do not offer you peace, and do not stay their hands, seize them and slay them whenever you come upon them: and it is against these that we have clearly empowered you [to make war]’ (4:91). Thus, war is permissible only in self-defence (see surah 2, notes 167 and 168, with the further proviso that ’if they desist- behold, God, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace’ (2:192), and ‘if they desist, then all hostility shall cease’ (2:193).

 

Koran:
“Verily, those who have attained to faith, as well as those who follow the Jewish faith, and the Christians, and the Sabaeans—all who believe in God and the last day and do righteous deeds, shall have their reward with their Sustainer; and no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve.” [2:62, 5:69]

 

Muhammed was the first to violate raiding in the holy months.

 

Sahih International:2'62
Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

 

"Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.

Sahih International 2 190
And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
