I believe that in another thread there was a self styled RW extremist who blamed this on liberal California and even claimed that these two pieces of bacteria would not be arrested by liberal California police.

 

These parents are going to be in hell in prison the father 'loose term' isn't going to get a good rep hell he is a child abuser and the mother 'loose term' in a woman's prison will be far worse on her. I hope they get life in prison in maximum security it will be hell on both of them if they don't get killed in prison which wouldn't surprise me.

Private home schools in Liberal California by law are not subject to inspection after the initial license is granted.

I suspected that was the case and why the government needs basic oversight of all licensed private schools including a check in randomly twice a year and to include checking the students are learning real things not just religion.

Agree mostly but the sad truth is, it WAS religious in nature...they were hidebound in the Pentacostal movement, and the information coming out now is that Daddy's parents believed that he was an anointed person who deserved 13 children because "God saw fit to give them to him"...even as he continually bankrupted himself on more than one occasion, left a good paying job and bankrupted himself further.

Homeschooling is not inherently dangerous in and of itself. It's just that the notion that homeschooling doesn't need regulation of any kind is 100% foolhardy. We are lying to ourselves if we say that all homeschoolers are to be trusted.
I know a few parents who homeschooled their kids.
One couple homeschooled their two kids for 1st through 6th grade, then turned them loose in public school for the rest, 7th through senior year.
The kids were diligent, responsible, accountable, mature and they took initiative in their learning paths. The parents had given them the tools and the confidence to swim in the larger ocean because they'd nurtured them in the safe harbor as little children. The kids went on to college and excelled.

So it CAN work, and work well...that couple both had gotten legitimate teaching credentials that satisfied state requirements, which existed at the time. I don't even know if basic requirements exist anymore.

So my point is that, to just throw it all to the parents without QUESTION or any oversight whatsoever, that's the most absurd thing imaginable.

Any parent that thinks "the evil government is breathing down their necks" just because a state consultant wants to look in once or twice a year and just because the state wants to know if the parents have the basic tools needed to BE teacher, is most likely the kind who NEED someone looking over their shoulder once or twice.
There needs to be some kind of accountability, that's all.
If a parent is setting up a home school, the state needs to obligate itself to stop by a couple of times..."let's see how your teaching works, let's see the environment your kids are learning in".

I do not think that's excessive or intrusive at all, I think it's common sense.

 

As far as what Lockheed-Martin does I know I am an aircraft buff. I had a feeling that some wackadackyl religious gang or cult was a factor.
