I grew up shooting and understanding guns. I've trained my kids how to operate a gun, not only for in the event they ever need to use one, but for those times some idiot kid pulls his dad's gun out they know how to handle the situation.

• Traveling to or from any activity described above with an unloaded handgun;
• On real property which is under the control of an adult and has the permission of that adult and his or her parent or legal guardian to possess a handgun; or
• At his or her residence and in the possession of a handgun with the permission of his or her parent or legal guardian and justified in using physical force or deadly physical force.1

 

People who are familiar with, knowledgeable about and comfortable with guns are far more creditable than those who never owned one, didnt grow up around any, and have been taught to fear them.

For those who grew up with guns, they are tools. We know what their for and how to use them safely. We would not "accidently" shoot a person with one than we would accidentally injure someone with a kitchen knife, nail gun, the chain saw in the garage, or any other tool that had the potential to be injurious.

Grew up around guns, not an arsenal, but several. The was usually a shot gun standing up in the corner by the front door, couple in the gun racks, a few handguns here and there and a bullet press in the basement.

We we quite familiar with them, knew what they were for, target shooting, hunting, protection, the occasional rabid animal that strayed into the yard ect..


13 kids grew up there and none of us ever shot anyone, by accident or otherwise. Imagine that...

The 2nd Amendment is past its expiration date. It was written when guns were muskets and when the military consisted of a "well-regulated militia" and nothing more. It makes a difference because a revolver fires more slowly and holds fewer rounds, and is slower to reload, making it less effective as an assault weapon to be abused by gangbangers and mass shooters.
